Can anyone clue me in as to where Seymour Johnson AFB in NC is? I hope close to Charlotte so I can see the Thunderbirds again. I saw them at McGill when I lived in Tampa and they were awesome!

Seymour Johnson is in Goldsboro, east of Fayetteville and Raleigh on Hwy 70. Probably a 3-hour drive from Charlotte if you hit it right.

I see they're coming to Lackland in November -- I live a stone's throw from Lackland. Unfortunately, I've got a sounding rocket scheduled at WSMR on October 24 -- if there's any delay I'll miss the show!

Yep, I'm skipping the Hillsboro Air Show this year. They couldn't get ANY military demo team this time. The last time I went was 2004 and the Blue Angles were great! I planned on going this year, but... oh well. A couple F15s from the Air Guard will probably fly over my house during the show anyway, so it's not a total loss.

They hit the Pope AFB Open House at Fayetteville, NC about every third year.

If the base holds the open house they should show up in the next few years. Pope's about 2 1/2 hours coming out Hwy 24/27.

Of course, nothing in Oregon. Oregon sucks.

You've got to be kidding.

In 2005,the Hillsboro International Airshow (IN OREGON) you had some of the finest acts in aviation:

U.S.A.F. Thunderbirds
U.S. Army Golden Knights
Sean Tucker and Team Oracle
Red Baron Pizza Squadron
Eric Beard in Russian Thunder (RIP)
Dan Buchanan with Flying Colors
Gene Soucy and Teresa Stokes
Bud Granley and his T-6 Show
Renny Price and his Sukhoi SU-29
Air Force Reserve - Smoke & Thunder Jet Car
T-6A Texan II West Coast Demo Team

Plus - you had Josh Gracin singing to you on Friday night!

In 2006, the Oregon International Airshow will be held 07/15- 07/16.

Bud Granley - one of my favorites
Eddie Andreini - another one
Golden Knights - Army parachuting team
Greg Medford in his Chinese Nanchang
John Mohr Barnstorming Act - Stearman
John Klatt - high energy show
Oregon Aero SkyDancer - skywriting and aerobatics
Otto - the Helicopter Clown
Kent Pietsch - the drunken farmer show is awesome
Renny Price and his Sukhoi - very cool...

And that's only the shows that have committed.

The Oregon Show is usually one of the funnest around.
