Ah, I misspelled it. Spiedies. YUMMY! I like Chicken spiedies the best, but I had venison spiedies the first time I tried them. Basically, it's cut up meat, marinated, cooked on the grill and stuffed in Italian bread....delicious. It is a local delicacy and Lupos spiedies are renowned.

We've had more than our share of >$400 gas bills for heat here.

As high as heating oil is, I have to say we've been very fortunate so far this winter. I have not had to have an oil delivery since September.

There was only one unforgettable moment, and that was in a cutaway shot, of Hillary Clinton, who simply must do something about her face. When the president joked that two people his father loves are turning 60 this year, himself and Bill Clinton--why does he think constant references to that relationship work for him?--it was Mrs. Clinton's job to look mildly amused, or pleasant, or relatively friendly, or nonhostile. Mrs. Clinton has two natural looks, the first being a dull and sated cynicism, the second the bright-eyed throaty chuckler who greets visiting rubes from Utica. The camera caught the first; by the time she realized she was the shot, she apparently didn't feel she could morph into the second. This canniest of politicians still cannot fake benignity

Um, today it's the busy side. Tomorrow will be the artsy-fartsy side for a few hours. However, I'm forecasting 6 more weeks of busy followed by another year of overtime. Sheesh!

Of course, that forecast was just an adumbrated look at my life for the near future. The details are very messy and tedious. But the pay is good.

I thought I'd slow down long enough to poke my head out of my office and see what FR was looking like!
