Apparently, airplay aint enough anymore. Sirius Satellite Radio is exploring options to stream its imminent superstar Howard Stern on the Internet.
Stern exits Infinity at year-end for a highly publicized $500 million five-year contract with the satcaster.
Scott Greenstein, president of entertainment and sports for Sirius, said at the Reuters Telecommunications, Cable and Satellite Summit Tuesday (Aug. 9) that the company was looking for all ways to maximize Sterns exposure.
Stern already maintains his own Web site, howardstern.com, which contains a detailed programming companion that is updated daily. He also recently signed a deal with In Demand to televise his daily radio show.
Responding to questions about whether the separate forums would dilute his value at Sirius, Greenstein forecast the opposite. He told Reuters, We like the extra exposure.
It is unclear whether streaming rights are already part of Sterns deal with Sirius.
Howard Stern is a steaming pile of poop.
The departure of Howard from the radio airwaves caused quite a shakeup in my hometown. Interesting to note that Laura Ingram replaced Stern.
Replacing poop with candy.
You forgot the part where you write 'in my opinion' ;/
This is news? I've always been able to stream Sirius's music channels.
