Bode takes issue with '60 Minutes'

A spokesman for Bode Miller said he is unhappy with the way his interview with “60 Minutes,” in which he said partying had affected his performance in the past, was characterized in excerpts and media accounts.

“We are very saddened to see that what is considered the pre-eminent news show in U.S. history has set off a firestorm by headlining a press release on a Bode Miller profile with an out-of-context and salacious headline involving drunkenness,” Lowell Taub, the ski star’s agent, said in a statement Saturday, issued from Adelboden, Switzerland.

BODE MILLER Reaction from International Ski Federation President Gian Franco Kasper was sympathetic — if somewhat disparaging — as Kasper told one news agency that alpine skiing has no “minimal IQ limit.”

“It’s his own mistake,” Kasper told the AP by telephone

I'm not so sure Bode is a genuine hippy. I think he's enjoying the limelight and is more a rebel than anything else. He may say he does not care if he wins or not, but that's probably said more for his image than anything else.

He's raking in millions from sponsors and the 60 minutes interview paid off for them tenfold as he sat before the camera in his Nike logo pullover. For a sports gear sponsor, it doesn't get any better than that.

And, he is a very likable guy having fun and making millions. I like that.
