Tampa woman sues former Panthers cheerleader over assault

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- A woman has sued a former Carolina Panthers cheerleader for allegedly punching her at a bar.

Melissa Holden, 26, of Tampa, was waiting in line in the bathroom of a Tampa bar on Nov. 6 when Victoria Renee Thomas punched her, police said. Thomas and another cheerleader, Angela Keathley, had emerged from a stall after other patrons yelled at them, police said.

Holden filed the lawsuit Friday. It said Thomas "intentionally, willfully and maliciously assaulted and battered" her. The University of South Florida student and nurse seeks more than $15,000 for her injuries.

"I've been humiliated," she said. "People assume I have a boyfriend or a husband who beat me up."

- Reading between the lines when this story first appeared a few weeks back, they were having sex and making quite a commotion about it so that the other bathroom patrons became upset and then disgusted. Both "cheerleaders" lost their jobs with the football team as a result.

um, they emerged from A (one) stall after patrons yelled at them (for hogging the stall). Some witnesses said they were having sex. nice what women's lib has brought women, don't you think? debauchery.

The story now looks like one of them was puking her guts out from drinking and the other was holding her up from falling in.

This tampa girl who got punched is the one who told the cops these girls were having sex in the stall, but its pretty clear now she just said that because she was angry that when she said something to the cheerleaders for holding up the line, and one of them punched her, she got mad and told the cops it was a lesbian thing.
