Canadian Press

Toronto — A 25-year-old man has been shot dead in Toronto, the city's 50th murder involving guns this year.

The man, who police haven't yet identified, was shot in the chest.

He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The gun-related homicide is believed to be the highest in the city's history.

Police are looking for two men who entered a car dealership and left in a black Pontiac Sunfire.

The man's death is Toronto's 74th homicide this year, the highest tally recorded since 1991.

Well hate to say this but if I'm gonna be killed I'd rather it be by a gunshot than being sliced, having my head bashed in until dead, strangled or any of the other ways people find to take pleasure in your demise.

You can get that in Toronto too. We aim to please.

The Mayor thinks we'd better hand out more basketballs. that will solve their need to murder one another.

Are you inferring there's a "racial component" to the homicides ?

The gun-related homicide is believed to be the highest in the city's history.

The murder rate hits a new high, and all the while Canada's government has been gradually taking away the right of it's honest, law abiding citizens to own and use firearms.

That would indicate to a logical mind that the government's policy of disarming law abiding people is increasing the crime rate rather than reducing it. But then logical minds realize that criminals are by definition people who do not obey laws, including gun laws.

What is the population of Toronto? Approx 4.5 million. The gun violence is a relatively new phenomenon in Toronto. The vast majority of the perps and victims are black. Fatherless families, and a misguided social welfare system which enables destructive behaviour are largely to blame.

OTOH, Most of those getting shot are gun carrying, drug pushing gang members - so there is a silver lining in every cloud, nes't pas?

PC correct term: " Gun Related"

Were these 50 people murdered by being shot with a gun or hit over the head with one? Did the victims shoot back, why not? Well , well, the infamous Canadian GUN CONTROL LAW coming home to roost. How do you like it now OH CANADA?
Give the citizenry back their rights to have and use guns, and there will be far fewer "gun related"
deaths.

I also resemble that remark. I am happily related to several guns, and my favorite is a Benelli Nova Pump
in 12 ga. ! "Gun related" indeed. Stick it !
