Good news for Sox fans.

With the Rowand-Thome trade, I was worried that the Sox were preparing to let Konerko go. This is a big relief. Will they put Podsednik in Center Field now?

With a healthy Thome (I know that's a big "if") at DH, the Chisox are getting tougher.

You posted well.

I'm glad they resigned Konerko. I think it's going to be a great battle between Cleveland and Chicago next year, without Konerko though I think Cleveland would clearly have had the advantage.

I think Mike Herschberger played CenterField when I was a kid!

That seems to be the conventional wisdom but the Sox have some options since Bryan Anderson can play center as well as Willie Harris.

This is great news and cannot please the rest of the division.

You did good too.

Now that he has life made, $60 million guaranteed, he can relax, hit .250, 15 dingers and drive in 50 runs and be happy. Really, for the Sox sake, I hope the guy produces. So many of these guys turn out not to be worth the money. Some are, but a lot are total failures. Out here, the Mariners threw $65 million at a Andre Beltra, the ex-Dodger. He hit about .265, 20 hrs, and 80 rib. That was down from something like .330, 48 and 120 in the free agent year. He may bounce back, and the .265 may be the best he ever does for the Mariners. Safeco field is not a hitters park.

It's going to be another fun year on the South Side. Also more good news, the entire club level is now sold out next years. This means all the drunk trailer trash will be confined to the upper deck! (My seats are in the club level so I'm very happy about that)
