Reports from the Bahamas where the filming is taking place say that cast members have been forced to abandon the set due to the thieves.
Four robberies have taken place in the last month, during the last incident thieves made off with $20,000 in cash and equipment.
Head of location production on the film, Jason Kabebeen has said: "We've had a slew of robberies on the actors who are working for Pirates of the Caribbean over at the Port Lucaya resort.
"They (the robbers) were able to get into the room with a key and stole everything from laptops, passports, cheques, and other equipment. The money they stole was actually the actors' pay cheques."
Filming on the movie has come to a standstill while the crimes are

Pirates is the only Johnny Depp feature I've ever actually enjoyed.
I think it's because he played a drunken, drag queen pirate. He was actually very funny in the film. I would probably venture out from my cave to see the sequel.
I also liked him in Benny and Joon.
I've liked him in many films. the less he talks off the set, the more likely I will continue to like him.
