I was all for giving her a fair hearing...but alas, it was not to be...

I have a couple of people to ping in mind. But I am behaving tonight, for the most part.

Remember that the 45% of people on this board who opposed Miers (only 32% or so were in favor of her) did so because they "hate Bush." Some how only 6% of people on here now hate Bush. Amazing turn around in just a few days. In all seriousness though, this was a great nomination and the kind we had been hoping for all along. I'm very thankful that the president did well with his second chance. We should all be lucky enough to get do-overs whenever we make a mistake.

I support my President and his nominees to the Supreme Court. If you've got a problem with that, maybe you need a little more excitement in your life.

No gloating please, don't be childish. W made a mistake, and he corrected it brilliantly.
All together now! Let's get Alito confirmed! Onwards and upwards...

Didn't support her; merely said she deserved a hearing before the Senate and if she failed, fine, throw her out on her can and find someone else.
NOW, if Judge Alito turns out bad (which I highly doubt will be the case, just play along with me here) what will YOU be saying?

I was anti-Miers from the first second, but there's no need to devour our own.

LOL. That pic cracked me up. I don't know what the caption has to do with its content but it made me laugh.

While Ms. Miers' background may not have looked 100% perfect to me on the surface, I still have faith that President Bush picked someone who would have been a good Supreme Court Justice.
I have found myself agreeing with President Bush more than I ever have any other political candidate or office holder. I have faith that he made a good pick.

I don't know if I was technically a supporter or not. But I wasn't bothered by her nomination the way the Donner Party was. I think she probably would have been a fine justice that conservatives would have been proud of. I wanted to see the hearings to find out if she could carry herself or not.
But that's moot. She withdrew. Now Alito is the pick, and he looks like an outstanding nominee. I'm very happy with Alito, from what I hear so far.

Maybe we should retitle this thread..."Where is the person who started this thread now?" Do you make a habit of being a hit and run poster?
