I meant to get this out this morning, but I spent all day running around. But I still managed to get half a baby sock knitted. And how has your week gone?

Thanks for the invitation, but I have to warn you. I may be the only person in the world that has ever been excommunicated from a quilt circle. No kidding.

A few years ago, I was invited to join the quilt circle by a woman who worked at a local convience store after she found out I loved quilting and knitting. I had a wonderful time that day--quilted all day, had lunch with the "girls." when I came home, I told my daughter how great it was, but not my usual day. "Gee," I said, " I didn't talk about politics, religion, mention any of my operations, or smoke a single cigarette." My daughter offered to cook supper and I asked why? she said, "Gee, Mom, sounds like you had a really $hitty day." Later, after all that "good behavior," I was uninvited. Seems I wasn't a member of the Soda Springs Baptist Church!!! All I can say is a pox on their church.

But some of us church ladies are real nice....and always have an extra seat at the quilting table or the knitting circle or the crafting table....

I finished the sleeves on a sweater for daughter #3 so she could wear it to school this morning.

4 strands of yarn on size 17 needles, so it knits up in a blink on circular needles.

I'm starting one for daughter #2 this evening.

I made one for myself earlier this week on size 35 with 6 strands but have been wearing it as a vest because the DD's have been chanting make mine, make mine and so I haven't got my sleeves done yet.

I used two strands of a brushed mohair novelty yarn that's heathered purple and dark gray, a strand of Lambs Pride Charcoal, a strand of Muskoka Merino Purple and 2 strands of Kroy Sock yarn in varigated purple and blue and I'm really rather pleased with it.

Long E. Legs---liked your bio. Especially about the hats. Love hats, but since I'm almost Amish and live and work on a ranch, I don't have much of a place to wear them. solved the problem by making a hat for every job. I have a gardening hat covered with flowers, a chefs hat for cooking, and my favorite, a "chicken hat" for tending chickens. It finally became so outlandish with feathers, I'm almost embarased to wear it. I think it was the red octrich feathers that put it over the edge.

Where do you get the yarns you mention? Have a link or name of mail order company? I'm really into natural fibers, but too far to purchase them often. Thinking of getting a couple of Ramboulet sheep and doing my own, but a lot of work.

Hats are wonderful. I wish I had more. I wear them too! Make them sometimes, mostly by crochet and knitting.

I have the opposite problems of Long Elegant Legs - finding petites in my size! 62 and 1/2 inches, and stout. Definitely a problem.
