Tree Helps Golfer Nail a Hole-In-One

ALBION, N.Y. (AP) -- It might be one of the more unusual aces in the history of golf, and it won Gene Raymond a new car. Raymond was playing in a charity tournament at Hickory Ridge County Club in Orleans County when his tee shot from the 18th hole hooked left into some trees.

Raymond, 66, figured he was looking at a tough shot out of the woods.

But when Raymond and his partner got to the green, they found Raymond's ball in the hole.

Witnesses told the men that Raymond's shot hit a tree and ricocheted across the green into the hole.

Last month's hole-in-one, the first in the tournament's 26 years, won Raymond and his wife a 2005 Buick LaCrosse worth $30,000. They picked up the vehicle this week.

Raymond, who works for a Rochester car dealership, says he plays golf about once a week

On Thursday, my neighbor's weedeater hooked a gravel shot over the retaining wall, into my carport, and reduced the front passenger window of my '03 Pontiac Sunfire down to several thousand little pieces of something I'm still making payments on. One-in-a-million shots don't impress me one whit. His homeowner's insurance did, however. LMAO :-)

I think I deserve a new car for my miniature golf hole-in-one. It was a difficult shot, afterall.

Of the two Holes-In-One I've gotten in my 12 games of golf in life, I did the same darn thing on the first one. I bounced the ball from the ground after it landed, into the tree and sideways to the hole.

Later that day, I also got one golf cart-in-one!

I think this game requires a lot of self mental discipline and a good "Unit Turn".
Too boring for me though. I like to run, not crawl around a lawn.

Well, the key is to "work" at a car dealership, offer a prize, and then "magically" win it yourself! ...the perfect scam...hehe
That does look like a very challenging shot, a prize of some sort is definitely in order!

Boy, my hole-in-one wasn't near that dramatic. Par 3, nice loft shot, hit the front of the green and just rolled in...if I ever get another one, maybe it'll be a good story for the paper...LOL
