OK, OK, I'm not a big telly watcher, certainly not of ''reality'' programmes, and I've only seen ''The Apprentice'' a couple of times, but is this master chef a thoroughgoing asshole AND a poor businessman to boot?
Given a brand new staff, some of whom are known to be amateurs in the kitchen, just 90 minutes to become harmonised with the restaurant procedures and the menu?
I'm just a jackleg cook, no intent of becoming a professional line chef, and I would have told this master chef genius to bugger off in 90 seconds' time, perhaps less.
Views, opinions, thoughts welcome -- if any FReepers happened to be as misguided as I in watching this exercise in sadism.
I didn't bother watching that, but for fun, read Anthony Bourdain's autobiography, "Kitchen Confidential" about his experiences as a chef. (I heard that Fox made it into a series to air starting next fall.)
Thanks for the tip! I do rather believe that FOX will need to find a replacement for this chef's programme (what price arrogant a-holes, eh?, and this chap is completely over the top, no matter how brilliant he may be as a chef), so I'll be looking for their next effort.
I watched it like a bad car accident.......this guy deserves a Orient Express kitchen whooping and it goes to show how badly people will prostitute themselves for a prize
I saw it. Very poorly done. Strangely unrealistic, even for a reality show. The actresses hired by the producers to complain to the chef were the straw that broke the camel's back.
I got through about 3 minutes before I wanted to kick his butt.
I hope it fails.
I thought it was a documentary on how I make chili.
