I predict they get big Time awards and accolades for their current music cd.
My song regarding my experience at Free Republic
*Why does everybody want to kick my a$$*
:P
Never heard of them.
(If what I just wrote makes you sad or angry,
WTF are they, and WFT cares?
HuH?
Big and Rich suck, they are not even close to being "Country"!! Country radio blows, Nashville has it's collective head you know where. As George Strait and Allen Jackson sung a few years ago; "Murder has been commited on music row". Give me a station that plays nothing but George Jones, Conway Twitty, Bob Wills, George Strait, Allen Jackson, Johnny Rodriguez, Mel Tillis. You get the point. Give me back my Country Music!!!!!! Dump Shania Twain, Lee Ann Rymes, and all of the other posers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
You've never heard their song,"Save a Horse, ride a Cowboy"?
You poor poor deprived person.
You misspelled "depraved". :)
Then you should listen to the radio station on sirius, on Dish satelite, channel, 6035, called "The Roadhouse" It plays the ones you're talking about.
;-)
ummmmm
That just made this thread worthwhile. A Herculean feat.
Here is one of their classics:
MUDDY WATER
Somewhere there's a stolen Zebco
I used to watch her fish with it well
All the fish would jump where ever she would go
But looking into her livewell now you'd never tell.
Someone ran off with her 60 horse Johnson
A motor she can't replace in her boat
I can only imagine the she's paddle'n
When she's moving about in her boat.
And she say take me fishing
And take me Sunday
Bring some beer
And take me, take me to that Muddy Water
Muddy Water
Is Muddy Waters still alive? I just wondered, seeing the lyric. And I'm sipping some right now, too...
Personally, I can't listen to Big And Rich. All show, no substance. Full of, for lack of a better description, hooks that couldn't catch a 1 lb large mouth. Lyrics that run as deep as the creek behind my house, which is bone dry.
I must say, music always evolves. Some of it is for the good, a lot of it is rubbish. A reflection of our fast food, pop culture society.
Singer/songwriters like Vince Gill, Garth Brooks, Brad Paisley, Jim Lauderdale, Emmy Lou Harris, not to mention such gifted artists as Alison Krauss and Union Station are an important asset to today's country music. There are traditionalist, such as yourself, and there are those such as myself, who love the traditional as well as quality modern country music.
