Since then, the Terri Schiavo case has pushed FR over the edge. We had posts calling for people to ensure that "accidents" to befall Schiavo and Judge Greer. We had posts praying that Iran would soon develop nuclear weapons, so that they could destroy the United States. And until the FBI started making arrests, those posts were allowed to stay up, completely abnegating Free Republic's standards.

This is exactly why we need people like you to stay -- although I can't blame you. I don't want to be associated with people like this either. I never did see posts like you mentioned, but it is those kinds of things that tarnish the image of this forum and all those who post here.

Perhaps an effort could be made to clean this up through Jim and the moderators.

Jim was shocked and horrified by what happened to Terri too, ok? I didn't see all the incitement to violence you people are alledging. I saw the mods keeping a close eye on people crossing the line.

And with everything else that has been going on, Frank Perdue, the Chicken King has died. Man I loved his chicken.

I guess I have missed a lot lately. I was on some of the Terri threads, but I did not see any of those posts that you mentioned. (wanting Iran to nuke US, ), etc, I admit I got a LITTLE carried away myself, suggesting that the attitude should not be "cant we all just get along, but maybe it should be "storm the castle"(as in the judicial system). then, I was kindly, but firmly slapped back to reality.

Point is, a lot of us got a little carried away, over the Schiavo incident. Some suggested that Bush and his brother be impeached(HOW one can lay this at the feet of W or Jeb is beyond me, )others suggested civil discourse against MS, and felos, and things of that nature.

SO-- everyone, let's ALL try to get our emotions back in check. This is a good site. let's not let ONE bad incident turn us against one another, cause a lot of hurt among fellow conservatives, and make this site a laughing stock on DU. The Schiavo matter is over now. While I AGREE 100%, that something needs to be done, about the out-of control judiciaries, and the death culture, posting things like "I will never forgive them", does NOT help matters. Let's all just make it a point, to return this site to civility, and one where we can ALL benefit, and share among each other.

And to those leaving, or thinking of doing so, over the last couple of weeks:: take a week or so off, allow emotions to settle down, and then, come back. We need you old-timers here, to keep us newbies in line, and we need your wisdom. Don't let a couple of bad weeks drive you from a site you have helped to nurture to maturity for over 7 years, now.
