It's just a hunch, I have no evidence. I have no inside information, accept what I intuit from what I see.
The Pubs made a bad move with the Federal Legislation; GWB realized that too late.
He could not storm the hospice for 2 reasons: (1) The media would have eaten him alive as a police state Hitler; (2) there are police offers guarding the hospice who have a duty also, and there could have been bloodshed. The worst of all worlds.
The same applied to Jeb Bush-
I believe that GWB, Jeb and all the pubs backed off because, if they didn't, the media would have roasted them- and public support wasn't behind them. Pres was at 43% approval.
So, the most underestimated politician in history, started working back channels through Lieberman and Jackson. I think GWB persuaded Jesse to go to Flordia.
I think they now have the votes to pass Fla. Legislation, it's just a matter of getting the wording right- so to appease the miserable Fla. Supreme Court.
The DEMS will get the credit for saving Terri, the Bushs will be seen as weakened. BUT GWB will have saved Terri's life.
Hopefully, Terri can hang on. But, in my heart, I think we do our greatest President an injustice and disservice when we say he gave up on Terri- He's sacrficed to take a political beating, to save Terri's life.
Underestimated again!
NEVER GIVE UP! NEVER GIVE UP! NEVER! NEVER! NEVER!
O.K., we'll see if you are right, but write me down as "hopefully skeptical." Jeb said that he had not even discussed Terri with GWB.
First time post, Vanity?
I think the pro death crowd didn't expect Terri to hold on this long and Americans have had a lot longer to think about this than was expected.
Feh, K. You don't even have a firm grasp on the obvious. Too bad, so sad.

Let him LIVE, Doctor! Please! Let him LIVE!
I guess we can say that at the funeral
NOT if he or his brother personally led Law Enforcement into that hospice. Would the cops shoot Governor and/or President Bush???? I think NOT!
Is there a chance of getting legislation through?? I hope so! I don't want Terri to die. It's breaking my heart.
From a political view, there isn't anything substantive happening in either state or federal
governments (all three branches).
Here is my vanity for you.

You hopes she 'hangs on' because.....?
Somehow I don't think that would have STOPPED Clinton.
You know, I'm even afraid to ask.
NO. That was wrong. Two wrongs do not make a right.
"So, the most underestimated politician in history, started working back channels through Lieberman and Jackson. I think GWB persuaded Jesse to go to Flordia."
Um. It's "Misunderestimated." Aren't you up on current slanderous events? ;)
And personally, I think your theory is Nutso-Kookoo! Dubya paling around with 'The Reverend Jackson?' Not in our lifetime.
Excuse me? You're saying that the media would have KILLED George Bush? That his LIFE was at risk? You are saying that the prospect of being CRITICIZED is sufficient reason to make oneself an accomplice in a murder.
And the police who are guarding the hospice are all the moral equivalent of S.S. at Auschwitz. Every one of them is disregarding the fact that a woman in the hospice is being murdered, and is "chust obeying orderss" like a good Nazi. Every one of those cops is offering the State of Florida blind obedience. Blind obedience is a form of fanaticiam--i.e., a form of idolatry. In this case, it is idolatry offered to the State, giving the State the place in one's life that only God has a right to.
Jeb Bush is also an idolater, no longer a Christian, because his god is the State of Florida, to whose total, absolute authority over human life Bush is willing to offer, in homage, Terri Schiavo's life. Bush has faced a choice: to be a Christian, or to occupy (without facing a crisis) a position within the God-State of Florida. He has chosen his god, the State.
What we are seeing in the cops and in the Bushes is fanaticism, idolatry, and totalitarianism. They all concede to the State the power to take innocent life, and they are all willing to collaborate in the State's murders.
Cripple,
Agreee with you there. Incredible display of wanting to life, from a woman who told her estranged husband she would never want to live under these conditions, eh?
NEVER GIVE UP! NEVER GIVE UP! NEVER! NEVER! NEVER! Churchill
Meanwhile, in a hospice in Florida Terri continues to be starved to death...
When you are speaking of the media roasting him are you speaking of the way they roasted Kathrine Harris for standing her ground and not backing down?
She did not care she did the right thing and that is what this is about!
MCD
"I think the pro death crowd didn't expect Terri to hold on this long and Americans have had a lot longer to think about this than was expected."
The urine output lie has to get out, as does the autopsy lie and immediate cremation order from 2002 authorized by Greer, along with the prevention of the Schindlers from attending services in the event she were to die by Felos.
You don't want to know. Re-read his previous posts. It's quite obvious.
Please clarify. I'd to hear more.

What have you been smoking?! Bush and Jackson do not talk!
Jackson has said some horrible things about Bush for years! He defamed him while Bush was governor.
Bush's poll numbers are low, because his supporters have turned on him.
You don't want to know. Re-read his previous posts. It's quite obvious.
That's exactly why I won't bother.
WHO suggested that?
PPeyton,
I see you like pink. I'll pass, thanks.
Never give up! Never give up! Never! Never! Never! Churchill

Someone once posted that last week was Governor Jeb's St Thomas Moore moment. I believe that is accurate. In other words, I second your take. Would love to believe King on GW, but I have firm doubts? Anyone know a posible time ine for even passing more legistlation?
GWB is a collossal disapointment. He failed to act and save this women. He wouldn't or couldn't take the heat.
Warrior,
I hope Terri hangs on, because I think Fla Senate will pass constitutional legislation to reinsert her feeding tube, under the facts and circumstances of this case.
Never give up! Never give up! Never! Never! Never! Churchill
Caroline,
I think its a basic given, the Media roasts conervatives, Christians, and Pubs.
God Bless
Never give up! Never give up! Never! Never! Never! Churchill
Does anybody have handy the names of these 9 legislators?
Congress enacted legislation which was signed into law by President Bush. The intent of the law was clear. Terri was to have the feeding tube reinserted, and the evidence was to be re-examined. From scratch. Judge Whittemore ignored the clear intent of the law and came up with his own interpretation.
Why couldn't President Bush have declared that the judge's interpretation was not what he understood when he signed the bill, and then have taken action to enforce the law. What is he, a rubber stamp for Congress?
President Bush has no moral excuse, or constitutional excuse for dropping the ball on this one.
Had Terri a purple finger, all this might have been avoided.
"I cannot and will not abide an elected official who treats the laws of this land like a smorgasbord ~ picking and choosing which laws to honor and which to simply disregard."
I think NOT.
Only hippies consistently use the word Coalition.
wow, in the pond scum of posts lately, that was a very good one. thanks.
I hope they pull through tomorrow morning. Terri's running out of time. God help her hold on for dear life!
Give them pork, whatever. Just get Terri saved.
go slither back to the DU
Here is a thought that I hope will be considered even by those who agree that Jeb and W have done all that they could within the law.
Michael Schiavo last week invited both the President and the Governor to visit his wife. I think they should go.
And bring her water.
Some argue that the Governor would be dangerously disrupting the balance of powers between the branches of government if he took executive action. Arresting him for bringing water would be such a breech as well, but it would be by those serving the court.
Fifty have already been arrested trying to bring Terri water. Go, Mr President. Go, Governor. Bring her water.
I think not.
I also think this would have never happened with Reagan as president. If he had of had to--he would have walked in there himself. I don't believe he would have stood by and let it happen.
Terri Schindler's CONSTITUIONAL RIGHTS have been violated all over the place. I want a president who has respect for the law of the land and my personal rights and who has the courage to ENFORCE this PROTECTION if need be, to defend them.
I want Judges who respect those same rights. And when those JUDGES VIOLATE and do not respect personal rights guaranteed by the Constitution, or Congressional Law passed by Congress, or are in control of police (which is against the Constitution) I want the EXECUTIVE BRANCH to STEP IN and ENFORCE those LAWS.
If the EXECUTIVE BRANCH (that's their job)doesn't stand up to the JUDICIARY and enforce the Constitution and LAWS passed by Congress, WHO WILL?????
