I'd have to agree with that, 100%, G.

Yep. They forgot Elian, they forgot 9-11, they'll forget Terri"""

And there isn't going to be any investigation of Pinellas County corruption, the hospice, the judge, the cause of Terri's condition, Michael Schiavo's finances or anything else. Terri will be cremated and the story will fade from the newspapers, fast. The politicians, from W to Jeb on down, don't want this story lingering.

Glad you are optimistic, but you have no Constitution. You have 9 political appointees that get to tell you what the Constitution says. The clearly written words have been neutered by agenda driven judges. Clearly worded documents like the Constitution protect you not at all. The good guys desperately need some judges on their payroll, the left has lots already. This is a game to the death and we are losing.

Some, like Hugh, speak about reforming the predicament through legislation.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!! Their actions are rendered mute time and again.
Even HH has said that Marbury vs Madison has made the "Men in Black" above all other branches.

Passing legislation is about as effective a remedy as spinning on your thumbs -- except the latter renders a quicker resolution.

ALL three federal branches are essentially in collusion..
They are mis-using the document as a "living Constitution" to put into effect 'laws' that violate its very principles. -- The only remaining check & balance power is in the States. Free States could defy these federal infringements, if their people insist. We are not losing, -- yet...

That is very true. We are ruled by judicial edict, and the sooner we admit it, the better.

if the end result of this does not get immediate action taken on ALL activist judges, the people of this country might take some big issues about it.. and I doubt it will be PC or kind

Of course we still have a Constitution.

Our problem is that our Senators and Representatives don't have the political will to use the tremendous power given them.

That political strength will come as these issues are brought to the forefront.

We all see different issues differently, but I'm sorry you're so pessimistic. There is a lot to be optimistic about. We have talk radio, the internet, and home schooled kids who are focusing on becoming 'legal warriors' of sorts in this important war. This is going to take decades, and I'm just sorry all of us won't live to see the vicious fighting. Our side is going to be glorious!

Hugh Hewitt does get it. Amazing how some are so blinded so as not to see the obvious.

You may call me crazy but maybe we should have let the two LEO's shoot it out and once and for all establish who in charge.

Okay. You're crazy.

Balding-Eagle,

You have that right. It will take decades.. I am pessimistic because I have lived 40 years under judicial tyranny where we in fact had no Constitution (in all due respect to your opinion that we do). My experience with courts are that they go out of their way to make sure they deal with no Constitutional challenge and that evidence Constitutional misconduct is excluded on purpose from court proceedings. The fact that you are telling me, my whole life will be spent under judicial tyranny tells me my negativity is certainly justified. Hugh is right now making fun of us on the radio, as an officer of the court, I guess he is obligated to defend tyranny to his last breath. His fast track to a solution is electing new people to the Senate and getting good judges. The good judges let the Terri execution continue, so how is that a solution?

I can't find much to disagree with what you wrote. Except the part about your negativity being justified. I don't know how the courts have affected you personally, and if they have, you have my sympathy.

To put things in some context, I'm 57. For my whole life, I've looked forward to this time. It seems like it's taken forever to get here, and unless I live an extremely long life, I'm probably not going to get to even see the real hot and heavy fighting on the judicial tyranny issue. I'm sad about that.

Think about this as a WWII battle. The courts have a heavily fortified machine gun nest. We have foot soldiers intent on taking them out. We're going to take casualties, Terri is but one. Don't forget the other 40 million victims (Roe V Wade). Terri and others aren't going to die in vain, it's just that we can't save them from the machine gunners. Our WWII heros were forced to suck it up and move on when their buddies were gunned down. We owe it to them to at least do the same.

But there is much to be optimistic about. We have talk radio, with many, many good talk show hosts spreading the word, changing a few hearts and minds every day.

We have the internet, and guys like Jim Robinson who selflessly have provided a venue that is also changing a few hearts and minds everyday. I think DU changes a few too, to our side.

We have Fox News. It's not as conservative as the mainstream would have us believe, but we do have a visual medium that is 'fair and balanced'.

The last one I'm going to list are the homeschoolers. These kids really are future leaders and the legal fighters who are going to going to be right there in the thick of things. They are going to be coming 'online' during the next decade. A lot rides on them, and I'm confident they won't let us down. Just look at the Gen Xers and Yers. Their heroic performance in the middle east has been an enormous, and pleasant, surprise, even to me.

I've listened to Hugh from day 1 when he was on local in the morning.

Always liked his show and him.

But, after a while it becomes apparent he is not too bright and he has no spine.

He's rather an obnoxious bore at times, and usually just a bore period.

I'll still listen to him, but he is rather an idiot riding on other's coat tails.

He should go back to PBS.

Neither of those things is true. I just wish Hugh would spend the few hours he has on the radio criticizing Judge Greer, and not freepers who want Bush to stand up to Greer. Greer's ordering of local police to repel the department of family services was like a coup --- the guy is out of control, and deserves impeachment. I wish Hugh would point his passion in that direction, and not at freepers who resent Greer's unconstitutional infringement on executive authority - and his bizarre zeal to kill Terri Schiavo.

No. Both are true.

I realized this well before Terri Schiavo and my comments have nothing to do with the Schiavo case.

Happy to say that you have good points. The trends are far from clear except to say the divide between good and bad is widening. The obvious judicial abuse is more and more flagrant and there are the good trends that are getting stronger, as you note. I think a widening divide does not bode well for the conflict that is emerging. It is not armed yet, but who knows when it might explode. A recapture of "From many one" seems a long shot.

I agree completely. It seems to me that the widening divide is a good sign because it allows (forces?) people to chose sides.

In spite of my optimism, I also agree that the trends are far from clear, and the outcome is much in doubt.

I've always had this optimism, but I must admit that I was expecting all of this kind of 'stuff' to occur in the 90's. I wonder.....what if GHB had more spine, would have this all been brought about sooner?
