If Mercy Seasoned Justice

Tell me of your heroes
Modern Man, godless athiest.
You've shown your vice in hate and pride,
But now, complete the list.
I've never met or known you,
But I've seen you many times,
Veneered by euphemism, a thinly veiled disguise,
Where legal plattitudes vacate humanity
Where mercy never seasons justice,
And writ is all you see.
Where innocents deserves nothing more
Than words of law perceived
By those who vest their life and times,
Invalid by decree.
For life is more than statute
It is given and is free.
Will mercy season justice?
Is this justice liberty?
