Are you joking me - €1,000 a month! Things have really changed since the days when I got 25 quid a week for nearly killing meself working on a farm! Had a friend who was on the dole for a while and got about the same - but that was in the 80s when the economy was banjaxed.
Yup.
A single man gets about €140 a week on the dole. So a single mother gets more (obviously). Then there's the children's allowance, and the free medical card, and the rental subsidy, and the refuse collection waivers etc. etc. etc.
