"We root for a PAC10 team in a NCAA National Championship game, and automatically we are lumped in as an accomplice to murder."

Well, after the first half, the Oklahoma State Police had 114 new missing persons reports on their casebook. A crime was committed in Miami last night ... false advertising. It was supposed to be a football game between two Division 1-A schools.

LOL! LS WHO??????? What a fluke they turned out to be! I see the coach is gittin before they tar'n'feather him. I hope 'SC chains Norm Chow (sp?) to the locker room. They better not let him slip away...

In the past three years, USC's 11 point victory over Virginia Tech (played back east in front of 92,000) was the closest any non-conference team has gotten to them. Their last out of conference loss came to Kansas State in Sept 2002 - the season they beat Colorado by 37, Notre Dame by 30 and Auburn by 13.

And then there's the Big 12. The 3 ugliest, most embarrassing bowl losses this year (again) were Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma, all members of that 'vaunted' Big 12 South we keep hearing about. Wow, were these people popping off after their once-in-a-decade, planets-aligned impressive bowl game performance by Texas Tech over a beat up Cal team! Unbelievable. I think they were just so relieved that they actually had something to cheer about in a bowl season, they couldn't contain themselves.

The teams this year are not the same last year.

The only clear fluke was OU. LSU played good football last year. Just because one team wins the Championship doesn't mean they should have won it prior years.

If Hasslett leads the Saints to the superbowl next year it doesn't mean they deserved to go to the playoffs this year.

Funny how I haven't seen an LSU booster on any of these college football threads in about 5 months. I suppose they still have their crystal football to commemorate the fraud of January 2004.

"The teams this year are not the same last year."

That is a fair statement. But SC was able to sustain a high level of performance.

They are all back in Baton Rouge, guarding that piece of crystal, fearing that the BSC is coming to take it back for shipment to its rightful place in Heritage Hall.

Overall they do have the best program out of the top 3 from last year. LSU did well considering the horrid program they had the past 2 decades. OU apparently is a team that folds when it counts. Auburn worked their way up there and really in retrospect should have faired better.

The weird thing is BCS and AP agree that OU is a top notch team. I'd like to see that one explained.

Our program wasn't that great this year. We haven't been arguing it that much because we take the sensible position that USC is a great team and deserved a shot last year. We don't go hog wild and claim that we'd have destroyed them using stats from other seasons.

The USC fans don't seem to realize though that 2004 is not 2003.

Oklahoma is one of the best football teams in the nation, except in December and January.

well the rest of the Pac 10 didn't suck......Cal really was that good until they lost both their wide receivers and their best roving defensive back weeks before the end of the season.....they still were not as good as TTU, I"m not blind but they were the only ones that almost beat USC at USC in the middle of the season.....they just lost too many starters.......not an excuse but very few not on the west coast actually say them play and win each game by an average of 24 points....even if you call the rest of the Pac 10 weak (this year), that is pretty dominant

I was bloggin on ESPN last night and the consensus was that the Big 12 fans are more obnoxious than most........now if anyone doesn't believe me, i'll give the link and there were even Big 12 fans asking the foul mouth haters from OU to get off the blog

you ain't kidding........as a Cal fan I tried to be congratulatory and all I got was a bunch of bs from alot of Big 12 fans....well, Cal only lost their wide receivers and best roving defensive back and were a hell of alot better during the season when they were healthy. All I heard is how great the Big 12 was and how poor the Pac 10 was. well admittedly the Pac 10 was weak this year but I want to hear from all those big mouths from the Big 12 that have all of a sudden gone silent now.......all they have is football....every UC school is ranked higher than any other Big 12 school (except Rice) as top schools and Cal is the number 1 public university in the world........since the start of the century, the Pac 10 has 336 NCAA national titles with the big 10 a distant second with 197... when it comes to ALL sports.......the Big 12 is woefully lacking...sports and academics........i usually wouldn't throw this crap at anyone but after their classless abuse of my emails..well they deserve it
