Will do! Please jump right in on the thread and tell us about yourself and your horses.. post pics if you've got 'em... it's a little crazy here this morning, but we're adapting!

Sorry I'm so late responding to your post. Life's been crazy lately with little or no time to be here at Free Republic let alone go riding.

My wife and I are avid western pleasure, trail/pack riders. We're just getting back into riding after many years away from horses because of other commitments and a lack of spending cabbage. We don't own any horses right now, but we ride weekly at a local training stable and we're currently looking for some horse property in the Phoenix area that would allow us to commute to our jobs easily but still have some room to train and have some trail access.

I'm interested in getting back into the wilderness on horseback, doing some endurance riding, and some reining and working cow horse competition. Hoping to start looking for some new mounts in a year or two. We'll be trying to find a couple of trail worthy Quarter Horses (preferably Paints) with enough competitve spirit for the arena also.

Nothing quite compares to the satisfaction of working, playing and being close friends with a thousand pound animal...except maybe a perfect landing at a really short backcountry airstrip in the middle of nowhere. Now you see the crux of my problem.
