Skip to comments. The FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread - Thread THREE!
Posted on 12/30/2004 7:01:16 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
We're living on a western desert horse property but haven't yet taken the plunge. Little girls here are horse crazy though. Can you add me to your ping list please?
At first glance I thought this thread was about the Australian tweeny kid show "The Saddle Club" and thought..whoa those folks are hard core.
Heh... I've caught that show a couple times! Sure... please join in on the thread... Becky pings every morning if you would like that.
Thank you :)
I don't have much to contribute but questions. :)
I'm in the western desert too - the northern Nevada part of it.
I send everyone a morning ping to keep you current. Would you like on that?
BTW, welcome. We like questions. But beware:), we all have differnt opinions and sometimes contradictory advise. But it's all in fun:)
And never go to the elves for advice, for they shall tell you both 'yes' and 'no'. Oh wait, wrong thread for that.
LOL..doesn't sound like the wrong thread to me:)
Any pregnant momma or baby horse updates for the new thread? Got pictures yet?
I disagree, we never contradict each other.
I'm in the western Mohave about an hour's drive north of Los Angeles. Hi!
I have posted any pictures in a while so here goes:
This is Rusty one of my geldings.
This is Rocky are stud. The daughter of a friend riding.
And this is Harley, my other gelding.Sister of the daughter of the friend riding:)
What happended???? It didn't preview like that.
I made a vet appointment with the horse vet to come out Tuesday.... teeth and sheath for Bay, annual checkups for all the others, shots, and he even said he'd bring a shot of something or another for the Homer dog's itching.
I ~want~ to try to figure out how to take a couple snapshots of my vet while he's here. Not sure what excuse I'd use for taking pictures but I'd like to post them for y'all. He's so cute :~D Married to a very nice wife who is cute as can be, but he's still very very cute. ;~D
Just missed a < p > mark... only shows if the window is wide ;~D
REally, how do you know that?? I went back and previewed it again and it was fine.
I made the window wide and then narrowed it again :~D... The preview screen is narrow.
