Just finished watching "White Christmas" for the umpteenth time -- and still with tears. I'm just taking time on this Christmas Eve to honor American immigrant Michael Curtiz, who gave us "White Christmas," "Casablanca" and so many more. An extraordinary director, often forgotten, and a man who truly loved his adopted country. Merry Christmas. The Wikipedia bio (which FR does not allow anyway) is deceptive. I'm sure he knew exactly what he was doing.

Ah, the Golden AGe of Hollywood, where they weren't HollyWIERD.
I fear that age is gone for good.

Forgot to embellish that Curtiz was born on Christmas Eve -- what perfect credentials for helming "White Christmas!"
