A more important question is - Why are you patronizing the place and helping them to stay in business?

They were reading most of the same books when the beatniks started the whole coffeehouse thing back in the late Fifties.

Your answer resides in your text:

I live in a college town...

The combined annual income of the patrons was less than what I paid for my car...

People with jobs, who have to grapple with the common reality of paying bills don't have time to hang out in coffee houses and smell funny. Conservatives have places to go, people to see, and things to produce.

Try 7-11 or Burger King, buy your coffee, drink it in your car. There shouldn't be any scumbags there.

I smell something. I don't think it's freshly brewed coffee.

Who else would pay $6 for a cup of coffee?

My anecdotal observation is that bottled water drinkers are Democrats too.

College town should be the first clue. Remember, students are mis-taught neo-marxism disguised as "critical thinking" about western exploitation.

What I suggest, if you want to create a ruckus, is to buy "How to Talk to a Liberal, if you Must" or "Treason" and prominently display or even read them in the coffee house.

You are going to the wrong coffee shops. Places like StarBuck's.....

.....Go to Dunkin Donuts and Greek owned diners.

I went to college at ASU in Boone. I know another responder said you must be on Franklin Street, but it could also apply to King Street in Boone.

I never had my eyes as opened as when I went to App and became a coffe fanatic. I believe that every time I went into a coffehouse, and this probably still applies, I was the only republican to visit that day.

Republicans pick up their coffee and go to their JOBS. Democrats pick up their coffee and sit there for a couple of hours...
