If Yasser at that age looked so much like Ringo does todaym
I hope Ringo doesn't end up looking like Yasser when he gets to be 75.

If been saying this for years. In fact, he looks like a cross between Arafat and Madeleine Albright.

So, now that the terrorist bas&*%d IS dead, who's in line for the annual Ringo Starr look-a-like contest?

Ugly as a stump, mediocre drummer (I'm being very generous), horrible singer...what more could a band want?

The sad part-if you happen to be Pete Best-is the fact that he doesn't receive royalties from songs written by any member of The Beatles.

I think that there was another guy-who stepped in for Brian Jones during a brief period before the Rolling Stones really took off-that wound up selling hot dogs outside of Wembley Stadium.

Go figure.

Hey, Hey,Hey. I am Huge Ringo Fan. I have everything he's ever recorded. He never claimed to be a great musician or a good singer, but his albums are always fun. His "Ringo" album of 73 was a HUGE hit and I believe he still holds the record for the biggest selling single of any of the solo Beatles with "It Don't Come Easy". He just happens to look like Yasser Arafat.

I don't know if Pete Best would have been any better.
Personality was definitely a big part of the decision.

Possibly.

The only thing that I remember about this guy-I hadn't even heard of him until I watched this segment on some stupid entertainment news program-was that he was involved with a band that was-at that time-more popular than the Rolling Stones and that after subbing for a prominent member of the RS, he decided to return to his original band.

What struck me about the interview was the fact that it was framed as some sort of subtle indictment of this man's life choices. When, in fact, if anyone else had been in the same exact position-without the benefit of hindsight-they would have most likely come to the same exact conclusion.
