IRC Channel Open (Vanity)
cartan

Posted on 11/02/2004 11:12:38 AM PST by cartan

In case anyone else feels like hanging out on IRC tonight, fire up mIRC, connect to an EFnet server and type

/join #freepers

Liberals will be banned, of course.

I hope this vanity is ok on General/Chat...

Welcome to FR cartan. A generous offer to open a IRC channel for us. The IRC people on FR have had a channel open for several years, through the generous help of a poster with screenname agitator.

ANYONE can join this IRC channel, using only Internet Explorer, no need to first learn how to use IRC software. Feel free to join us over that way, anytime, http://chat.agitator.dynip.com/

If you use a regular IRC client, the address is irc.agitator.dynip.com and the port is 7700

Didn't mean to steal your thunder cartan, but you'll find a pretty active group over there. Also authenticated IRC screennames through Freepmail signup, which keeps the trolls to a minimum.

Aaah, hehe, thank you very much :-) I tried to use chat.agitator.dynip.com before, Sunday I think, and couldn't reach it, so I thought it had been shut down in the meantime. Ok, I'll come over.

I had been on the server until a couple minutes ago, then got disconnected and can't reconnect now. The server appears to be down. Perhaps it'll work later again.

Got disconnected again. This time I wrote down the error code: 10053. Apparently, this is a Winsock error code meaning that I get no TCP ACKs anymore, indicating a networking problem. The router, perhaps?

The people want more. I say, give the people what they want.
