My show will go on, says Moore (also Maysles lawsuit against MM Hates America)

Michael Moore insists he will arrange a television programme for the night before the US election, after a planned showing of Fahrenheit 9/11 was cancelled. Meanwhile an anti-Moore documentary has come under fire for allegedly misrepresenting one of its interviewees. In Demand, a US cable channel, had been planning a Michael Moore Election Eve Special, including a screening of Fahrenheit 9/11 and interviews with anti-Bush celebrities. Citing "legitimate legal and business concerns", In Demand has now cancelled the show.

Characteristically, Moore told the AP news agencies that In Demand had bowed to pressure from "top Republicans". "Apparently people have put pressure on them and they've broken a contract," he said.

Moore now says he is continuing with production on the show, which he intends either to air on In Demand - with whom he claims to have a legally binding contract - or on another outlet.

Meanwhile, the maker of Michael Moore Hates America, an anti-Moore documentary which aims to give him a dose of his own medicine, is in hot water after one of his star interviewees claims he never agreed to feature in the movie.

Veteran documentary maker Albert Maysles, who shot the 1970 Rolling Stones film Gimme Shelter, says he withdrew permission from Michael Wilson to use footage of his comments about Michael Moore's technique when he realised Wilson's film was a personal attack on Moore. Wilson says Maysles gave a "verbal release" to use the interview.

If he has the verbal release on tape, there is nothing that guy can do about it.

Plus, its not an attack on Moore. The guy needs to watch the movie first before judging it.

The Film Actors Guild needs to shut up and act! Remember when Alec Baldwin was the greatest actor in the world?

He had a release and Mr. Maysels "withdrew permission" from the project. Tough ****. Michael Moore has been exposed as a hack by another documentary filmmaker.

Little David was in his 4th grade class when the teacher asked the children
what their fathers did for a living. All the typical answers came up :
fireman, policeman, salesman, doctor, lawyer, etc.

David was being uncharacteristically quiet, so the teacher asked him about
his father.

"My father's an exotic dancer in a gay cabaret and takes off all his
clothes
in front of other men and they put money in his underwear. Sometimes, if
the
offer is really good, he will go home with some guy and make love with him
for money. "

The teacher, obviously shaken by this statement, hurriedly set the other
children to work on some exercises and took little David aside to ask him
"Is that really true about your father?"

"No," said David, "He works for the Democratic National Committee to elect
John Kerry, but I was too embarrassed to say that in front of the other
kids."

Terry O'Brien on WLS AM Chicago this morning mentioned that the Western Springs, Cook County, IL public library was going to host a showing of Michael Moore's movie. Terry said that the residents of Western Springs should complain about tax dollars used for viewing the propaganda film. However, not only Western Springs but many other communities are part of the Illinois SLS, Suburban Library System and all of us suburban Cook County residents pay taxes to that library system.

Anyway I went to the library website and see that the library liberals are now not going to show the propaganda film.

Film Discussion Group
"The Library's showing of Fahrenheit 9/11 on October 22nd has been cancelled. The central purpose of our film discussion group has been to provide a forum for thoughtful discussion of films of current interest. The current political climate makes this type of forum impossible and has raised concerns about patron and staff safety. We regret that this has inconvenienced those members of the community who viewed this as an opportunity for constructive debate. No future showing has been determined."

Yes, the poor little libs are concerned about their safety. As usual the big bad conservatives might actually complain about the obvious bias of librarians.

As a side note, I was recently in my local library and went to the Vietnam history book section. All that I found were obvious politically correct books. Yet, I recall that there was a wide selection of Vietnam War history books from many different authors on the shelves a number of years ago. The librarians must have burned all of the conservative books!

I am a librarian and I can tell you that's a big no-no for libraries to get involved in politics. Unfortunately, librarians tend to be liberal as well as the professional organization, the American Library Association (headquarters in Chicago, BTW). As a librarian, I try to be objective about the books we purchase. It's hard to be though with all these liberals trying to make a buck by publishing anti-Bush books. I don't select all of them. Luckily I live in a fairly conservative community. Anyway, as a taxpayer, you have a right to voice your opinion to the librarians about what you are finding on the shelves. Regardless of rather you live in a liberal or conservative community, the library should represent all sides of a matter.
