If the jails in San Antonio de Bexar are anything like I've heard them described, the couple might very well still be having sex. With other people though.

"Couple allegedly has sex at the Alamo"

That's okay. She only had an alleged orgasm.

NOOOO!!!! They stole our idea! We've been planning this for years - thanks for ruining our lives. I guess we'll have to visit Mount Rushmore or Graceland instead.

They should have at least gone down to the basement, where the stolen bicycles are.

Lest we forget...

Earliest photo (Daguerreotype) taken of the Alamo not too long after the Battle

Commandancy of the Alamo Bexar, Fby. 24th, 1836

To the People of Texas & all Americans in the world. Fellow Citizens & Compatriots I am besieged by a thousand or more of the Mexicans under Santa Anna. I have sustained a continual bombardment & cannonade for 24 hours & have not lost a man. The enemy has demanded a surrender at discretion, otherwise the garrison are to be put to the sword if the fort is taken. I have answered the demand with a cannon shot, and our flag still waves proudly from the walls. I shall never surrender nor retreat.

Then, I call on you in the name of Liberty, of patriotism, & of everything dear to the American character, to come to our aid with all dispatch. The enemy is receiving reinforcements daily & will no doubt increase to three or four thousand in four or five days. If this call is neglected, I am determined to sustain myself as long as possible & die like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor & that of his country.

Victory or Death William Barret Travis Lt. Col. Comdt.

"...like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor & that of his country."

Apparently these two forgot what that means; that is if they ever knew in the first place.

I wonder if they also like to do it on whale watching boats where onlookers might shout, "There she Blows".

Maybe they thought their act would go down in history.

Couple Arrested for Sex at the Alamo

http://www.woai.com/news/local/story.aspx?content_id=FE2BBF13-DA82-48F6-B61F-394F4F8C7900

This'll make it easier to remember the Alamo.

Two teenagers, identified by police as active duty soldiers at nearby Fort Sam Houston, were arrested Sunday evening for having sex at the Alamo.

A police report says the 18 year old woman and 19 year old man, both assigned to an Army medical batallion, were naked from the waist down when tourists spotted them having sex in an area of the Alamo which is open to tourists. Several visitors reported seeing the activity and reported it to police.

The pair was charged with public lewdness, a misdemeanor.

"This is sacred ground," Alamo Director David Stewart told 1200 WOAI news. "It's kind of like doing it in a church."

The Alamo, which is located in the heart of downtown San Antonio, is the most popular tourist attraction in Texas.

Because of it's status as an American icon the Alamo frequently attracts people seeking attention. In the sixties and seventies, Communist and anarchist groups raised red flags over the Alamo. Despite rigorous efforts to discourage commercial or political activity by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, the private group that owns the Alamo, politicians flock to the 18th century Spanish mission. In the mid nineties a man tried to set the Alamo on fire by splashing fuel on the building's ornate doors and tossing a match on it.

Perhaps the most infamous example of Alamo exploitation occurred in the 1980's, when shock rocker Ozzy Osbourne urinated on the Centotaph, a monument to the men who were killed at the Battle of the Alamo which was erected in front of the building in 1936 to make the battle's centenary. The incident got Osbourne barred from performing in San Antonio for two decades.

Officials said last night's incident did not disrupt activity at the Alamo, which attracts several million visitors per year.
