Maybe some students should raise awareness in the teacher's desk drawer or glove compartment....

If this came home in my child's backpack, the teacher would have 'No Comment' to say because he would have no teeth left. And no, I am not being a keyboard warrior now, I really mean it.

Raise awareness to what? That their child's teacher is insane?
If this school district is smart, this "teacher" will be looking for a new occupation.

Did the kid have an accident or did the teacher fish it out of the toilet. Either way what was the point that was being made?

The teacher just wanted to prove that he knew his sh*t.

Teacher sends feces home with 6-year-old
Associated PressDALLAS -- A teacher is on paid administrative leave after sending a first-grader home with feces in his backpack because the boy went to the bathroom on the classroom floor.
The teacher apparently was frustrated with the 6-year-old student's actions so wrapped up the waste and sent it home with the boy Tuesday along with a note, Dallas school district spokesman Donald Claxton said.
Claxton declined to identify the teacher at Gabe P. Allen Elementary School.
"It generally appears the teacher was trying to help raise awareness with the family," Claxton said. "It's just an unfortunate incident. Unfortunately, she took this course of action."

No doubt that the teacher was WAY out of line, but I can't help but wonder if the kid has been day-cared to the point that he hasn't been potty trained.

My mother runs a daycare and at a certain point, she will not take untrained kids in her group.

You mean your 6 year old would defecate in a classroom?

The kid went on the floor.I thought the teacher had to be some kind of nutcase until I got to that part. What kind of 6-year old defecates on the classroom floor? Was this a deliberate act?
Sounds like a whole bunch of nutcases runnning around in this case.

That is so immature, normal and typical, folks. ...worked in a school, seen all that,... It's how Women's Studies, English, Psych., Soc., Philosophy, etc., prepare teachers to behave. It's why corporates want all of their employees to have some Liberal Arts background. It frees up more chicks, married or not, and makes them feel entitled to, uh, "have fun." Homeschool!

...a fatherless kid or the child of dual-earning parents who couldn't afford to get a babysitter who had enough maturity or know-how with kids to potty-train him.

And what are the chances that the first grade teacher was a man? ...almost nil.

Bet that parent will never again ask that kid to show them what he did at school that day. While the teacher is wrong, there does come a time when children should be civilized or not allowed into society. I wonder if this was a "special needs" class.

Would you be surprised to learn this school is not in the best of Dallas neighborhoods? Thought not.
