NATALIE Portman tried to get her "Vote for John Kerry" message out to the masses last week, but she was stymied. Arriving from Boston, where she attended the Democratic National Convention, Portman was scheduled to tout her "Garden State" on "The Charlie Rose Show," "Good Morning America" and CBS's "The Early Show." She showed up in a Kerry T-shirt, but only Rose let it be seen on-air. According to the movie's publicity people, "GMA" tried to cover up her shirt by strategically placing a flower pot in front of the pro-Kerry logo while "The Early Show" cameras only showed Portman from the shoulders up to avoid spreading the message.

Portman: 'i'd Consider Stripping'
Personally, I think her looks are fading fast, but then I don't really have a thing for liberal automatons.
Herodotus
Not in Hollweird. There, when a woman gets nekkid she becomes a serious ak-tore. Wittness Hale Berry, Charlez Theron, Jennifer Connelley, and (yeck) Diane Keaton.
Oddly enough, though, can you ever recall an actress receiving an Oscar for a role in which she appeared naked? Or an actress who has appeared naked ever receing an Oscar for a role thereafter? If that's the case, Hollyweird has an interesting double standard, don't you think?
Don't get me wrong: I really do not mind looking at a beautiful woman naked, and really only Berry's nude scene bordered on pornographic, but Ingrid Bergman did not need to get naked to earn respect.
I never bothered with Frida. I has always bugged me that the feminist movement has allowed her to eclipse her far more talented (albeit sociopathic and probabally communist) husband. As an artist, Frida was a one-trick pony.
Her husband was most definitely a communist if we are to believe the film about her life. An incredible painter who lost his reputation in American due to Rockefeller.
Quite a few. Besides the ones Pres mentioned, Kim Basinger has an Oscar and has appeared topless/nude in films (as well as a PLAYBOY pictorial), Kathy Bates has one and did her topless scene in ABOUT SCHMIDT. Oscar winner Marlee Matlin has done topless scenes, and multi-time nominee Julienne Moore has done full-frontal nudity (a la BOOGIE NIGHTS). BTW, Jennifer Connelly has done several topless/nude scenes, most notably in THE HOT SPOT and REQUIEM FOR A DREAM.
Darn. That would be a great picture without Mrs. Clinton in it.
In 1970 and 1971, both the Best Actress winners (glenda Jackson in Women in Love and Jane Fonda in Klute, respectively) appeared nude in the movies the won for.
