Red Sox To Get Schilling, Foulke (... DONE DEAL!!!... SURE THING!!... IT DEPENDS... MAYBE)

BOSTON-The baseball scribes in Beantown are over-dosing on Ecstacy this morning. Still smarting from another 2nd place finish in 2003, they are already touting the 2004 Red Sox as World Series champions!

Big headlines boast that Curt Schilling will be wearing a Bosox costume in the spring and that Keith Fouke is already warming up in the bullpen. The Beantown fans are lapping this up like a drunk does a spilled drink. I kid you not... but it should come as no surprise to the 'educated' baseball fan. Boston fans see the game 'differently' than the rest of us.

Before any signing of papers is done, Schilling has to waive the 'no trade' clause in his contract. Plus the dreaded Yankees are also interested in him. Foulke is even farther away than that... the Sox only had productive talks with his agent and treated him to a Celtics/Knicks game. But in the fairyland of Boston baseball these are just annoying details. Christ, maybe the SJC of the Commonwealth can decree it like they did gay marriage! Button-it-up... case closed... pop open the champagne!

Who cares about men marrying men, children, animals, or household utensils for that matter. It's not even a blip on the screen compared to their beloved Bosox! A team geared to put up a good fight like an Irish boxer... finishing second with a face like raw hamburger. The dopey fans will beat their way through the turnstiles until September when they retire to the 'high-brow' sports of the NFL, NHL and NBA.

Yea... the 2004 World Series is already a done deal in Beantown. It's been like that every year since 1918 don't you know.

The winter is always the best time of year for a Red Sox fan. Yankees fans prefer October.

As I D'Back fan I'm glad to get rid of Schilling. He's been injured too much the last couple of years.
