Prayer request from a fellow FReeper
FReeper request

Dear Trussell, I am on your ping list and have been privileged to pray for many individuals because of your efforts. My family is in need of prayers, and I would like to ask for them anonymously without posting myself. I am hoping you can slip this in somewhere for me. :)
My husband, who can be a dear, dear man who loves me, is also ill with bipolar disorder. He takes medications, but I have been unable to convince him he needs to maintain an ongoing relationship with a psychiatrist/counselor. (This is complicated by the fact that we are self-employed and currently have no health insurance.)
Recently, he has seemed off to me and has been drinking, something he doesn't usually do unless he is not feeling right. He slipped past me tonight and went for a drive and I just learned he was arrested for a DUI and that the officer is sending him for a MHMR evaluation, also.
As for me, I have reached the end of my reserves to deal with this situation. I honestly don't know how to go on either with or without my husband. It is not that I am a weak person or unable to take care of myself, but I am so stressed out and so worn down from dealing with my husband's problems that I just have very little fight left in me.
We have a 12-year-old son who needs his dad but also doesn't need any more of the craziness. I give him everything I can, but sometimes I don't know if it is enough or what would be best.
I don't even know what to ask people to pray for at this point, but I know God knows what we need and that people will be led to pray in the right direction.
Thanks, Trussell, for your faithfulness on FR and for anything you can do with this request.

Anonymous FReeper,
You certainly have my prayers. Cling to the Lord ..... He will be with you every step of the way and help you through this. It won't be easy but with His help you'll make it. If possible find a pastor (not necessarily your own) or someone with whom you can be completely honest and vent some of your frustration and anger and hurt and confusion. You will feel a whole range of emotions, sometimes simultaneously ..... that is normal so don't let it worry you. But it's important for you to deal with each of these emotions as you go along.
God bless you!

May God send peace and strength to our fellow FReeper in need.
Please Father, grant healing to this FReeper's family and also guide her through her husband's turmoils. Please give her husband the wisdom to know that what he is doing is tearing his family apart and the strength to confront his illness. We ask You for Your love and mercy to shower down on this family in need.
We ask this in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

If she doesn't know what to pray for, then let's just pray for God's will in the situation. I hope it brings her comfort, peace, and strength, in understanding that we are not only about how God relates to us, or how we perceive or judge in our human way if we are God's more favored or not, but how what we go through is preordained by God to form us into his image and fulfill his purpose for our lives. We are His workmanship, to work his purpose as He completes the picture and fulfills the saga of the human march towards immortality in Christ Jesus. And our operating as designed to fulfill His purpose is by no means pain free, or cost free. Can you drink from Christ's cup? Is the question I try to answer in the affirmative each and every single day. It isn't all about us, but how as a little piece of God's puzzle needed to complete the entire picture, we grow through suffering and joy as God's workmanship, to perform the good works preordained by God for us to accomplish before the foundation of the earth. It's hard to be worked on sometimes, some may doubt that God loves them when they see other's have a much easier life. The apostles even worried about who was more popular with Christ, and if the one apostle was going to get a better deal or easier deal than the other. When Jesus told Peter how he was to die, Peter looked at the apostle that Jesus loved, John, and asked about what would happen to him. Jesus said it was not for Peter to worry about or judge, "You follow me". So be of good cheer sister, for in the end of things, or rather the begining, the only thing that matters is, and will give us the ultimate joy and fulfillment of spirit, is the answer in the affirmative that we performed as designed.

I will also pray for 'anonymous' and her husband, and the difficulties they are facing.
Perhaps the recent arrest and evaluation will start him on the road that he so dearly needs.
