It’s College Football that is really dead and not coming back.

I stop watching and even caring about the NHL when they let their employees:

-while at a company event
-while in company uniform
-while being paid from company funds

Disrespect the American flag and by extension, my service to that flag. Haven’t watched a game since.

I learned a few days ago that tonight is the start of the NFL Draft. For many years this date was marked on my calendar months out, and today I don't even now in which city it will be held.

Well, the Draft was held in Detroit yesterday (I didn't know, either) and set an all-time attendance record. So somebody still cares.

Draft sets single-day attendance record in Detroit

The first night of the NFL Draft was a hit in Detroit, as the NFL reported a single-day attendance record of 275,000 fans while police officials estimated the turnout at 400,000. Driving "was an ordeal and parking a fantasy." Entire streets were "cordoned off and turned into tailgates." The crush of people was "so thick that pedestrians were allowed to walk in only one direction on some streets." Visitors wearing "a kaleidoscope of colors representing seemingly every NFL team" roamed from the draft theater in Campus Martius to an entertainment zone at Hart Plaza to a players' red carpet at the Fox Theatre. Detroit's NFL Draft footprint "hit maximum capacity" around 6:30pm yesterday, "prompting officials to shut off entry for the rest of the evening and causing some fans to try to go around police"
(DETROIT NEWS, 4/26).

275 thousand people “attended” the first day of the draft. The NFL is fine, they don’t miss you.

Pete Rose violated the number one rule of baseball in the 70s. And he’s not a Philadelphia Phillies Great.

The NFL slowly died for me in the 1990’s with unrestricted free agency. I found it hard to continue to care about my franchise when my guys were increasingly playing for other teams.

I won't recap the legacy of Colon Kaepernick

The spell checker was wise with this update.

Philadelphia Phillies great Pete Rose

Other great players:
Johnny Unitas – San Diego Chargedrs
Joe Namath – Los Angeles Rams
Willie Mays and Yogi Berra – New York Mets
Franco Harris – Seattle Seahawks

Our entire society is becoming more and more corrupt, degraded and criminal. Why would pro sports be different?

I never understood the appeal of football anyway. It’s like a religious cult.

Sportsball is as legitimate as WWE wrestling.

It's a grift - getting taxpayers to subsidize those who hate them, those who colluded with Communist organizations such as Black Lives MatterTM to spit in the face of Americans.

Let them disappear into the dustbin of history.

I used to see fans wearing apparel; jackets, hats, shirts. They'd put stickers on their cars, including on the glass. They'd fly team flags from their porches and have huge Sunday barbecues to watch the game.

Now I only see NFL apparel on the rare occasions that some old-timer pulls a faded jacket out of the closet.

I quit watching even before the Kaepernick mess. I was a die-hard Steelers fan. Was watching a game one day and suddenly realized that there were more commercials than there was playing time, which was irritating. Then a few silly, arbitrary penalties got called, and it dawned on me that this was all scripted reality TV played out to get maximum return from gambling. Haven’t watched a game since. Couldn’t even name one current Steeler.

College Football is already being destroyed with the super conferences and the transfer portal, and the NIL.
