Florida school students will receive instruction on the history of communism after a bill was signed into law on Wednesday.
Gov. Ron DeSantis signed that will require public schools to implement age-appropriate teaching lessons on the history of communism, beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.
"We've seen what's happened on the island of Cuba over these many decades, because of totalitarian ideology, communist ideology, and you've wrecked a society, because of that tyranny," DeSantis said.

When i was in HS in Florida, we had a required course as seniors called AVC, Americanism vs Communism. It was a good course.
Too bad the state got rid of that requirement. Maybe they are seeing the error of their ways.
Make a mandatory college class also.

True, it should be taught, at even earlier ages than just as seniors in HS. What I found amazing was that it stopped being a required course to graduate, and I think they even stopped offering it. Teaching the truth about communism should be a requirement in the US.

Bingo! My very first thought, too. The teachers and unions could corrupt it into “The Wonders of Communism” and create a how-to instructional course.
When I went to high school in Florida, we had to take an “Americanism vs Communism” class.
It got replaced with Howard Zinn’s “A Peoples History Of The United States”, the most evil book ever produced.
