Nothing in this universe last forever, and that includes a solid Democrat voting block. What brings about this change, time. As the solid Democrat voting block gets older they are replaced by younger voters who do not have the same history, experience and beliefs as the older ones have. All they see is that the Democrats are in charge and things keep getting worse.
CA has pretty low voter turnout. If the masses get pissed they might actually go to the polls and change things.
