There could be a kernel of truth here. Nowhere are they actually claiming that Fang Fang wasn’t a PRC spy. It’s actually possible that once the alphabet agencies busted her, they tried to flip her as a double-agent.

The real story is that Swalwell’s uncontrollable flatulence was so bad that Fang Fang returned to China having decided that the potential of being executed as a failed spy was a far more acceptable fate than living within the confines of Swalwell’s colon exhaust.
