How is the US dollar different?

At least it is backed by the power of a country and its military. Bitcoin is backed by faith and the “greater fool” theory. The only thing worse than fiat currency, IMO, is an investment backed by nothing more than that.

Bottom line, for me, is that Bitcoin is pure gambling. I don’t gamble - at least at that kind of level.
