Arizona Prosecutor Refuses to Extradite Suspected Killer to NY: Doesn't Trust Alvin Bragg to Prosecute

Day by day, it seems like the divisions in our country get more and more stark. In another example of the growing differences in red vs. blue regions, Maricopa County Attorney General Rachel Mitchell is refusing to extradite a suspected murderer to New York, stating that she does not trust Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to prosecute the accused killer.

At a Wednesday press briefing, Maricopa County Attorney General Rachel Mitchell said she would not release 26-year-old Raad Almansoori to authorities in New York City, saying it is safer for the general public to keep him locked up in Arizona rather than risk him being potentially let go under Bragg.

Almansoori, whom Mitchell labeled as "dangerous and violent," is wanted by the NYPD for the horrific killing of 38-year-old Denisse Oleas-Arancibia, a mother of two who was found dead inside the SoHo 54 Hotel on Watts Street on Feb. 8. Police say she was killed by a suspect who beat her over the head with an iron, and bits of plastic from the appliance were found embedded in her skull.

Almansoori was arrested by police in Arizona earlier this week after police say he stabbed two women there — he tried to rape one of them in a McDonald’s restroom at gunpoint. He was out on bail at the time of Oleas-Arancibia’s slaying on charges that he kidnapped another sex worker and sexually assaulted her in Sumter County, Florida, in 2023.

Rachel Mitchell, in her statement, made it very plain that it was the prosecutors, not the police force, that she lacked faith in to do their jobs.

"I know there's been a discussion about New York wanting to extradite this individual and this is not aimed at the New York Police Department at all," Mitchell said. "I know they did a hard job, a good job, but we will not be agreeing to extradition."

"I've instructed my extradition attorneys not to agree to that. We’re going to keep him here, these are mandatory prison sentences."

"And having observed the treatment of violent criminals in the New York area by the Manhattan D.A. there, Alvin Bragg, I think it’s safer to keep him here and keep him in custody so that he cannot be out and doing this to individuals either in our state or county or anywhere in the United States."

It's a small wonder that crime is spiking in our major cities when even the District Attorneys in some major jurisdictions aren't trusted by their counterparts in more sane areas; even worse, in the case of Alvin Bragg, he seems to richly deserve this distrust.

Who Could Have Predicted: Illegal Alien Let Out on Bail in NYPD Beating Case Arrested for Violent Crime

America's major cities are suffering. Liberal mayors, district attorneys, and prosecutors refuse to do their jobs; blue-state legislatures redefine crimes down to minor infractions.

Ordinary, productive folks are fleeing, and now it's gotten to the point that Attorneys General in saner jurisdictions would rather handle thugs in their courts because they don't trust blue-city officials. That lack of trust may well prove to be ruinous.

Get out of the cities!

Arrested 13 times in AZ in past 3 years. Held without bail in AZ for two stabbings and a carjack. Also accused of violent crimes in Florida. Reasonably suspected of being a serial killer. Bragg, Letitia James, Hochul and NY voters can’t wait to turn him loose.

Attempted murder, I think in AZ...you could get up to a dozen years. Knowing how this guy is...he’ll get into some prison-fight, and add another five years easily. AZ should just tell NY City that they get him after he’s completed his AZ sentence.

They should tell Bragg the killer is a trump supporter, a MAGA guy, then he’d get a quick speedy guilty verdict and life sentence.

Blame George Soros, whose citizenship should be revoked.

He is an illegal alien. He has no rights beyond being treated humanely. Therefore give him a choice: a long walk back home never to return or a short walk to the gallows out back. Remind him if he elects the long walk back home but returns to the USA, the short walk out back will his future.

She can have a trial right there in AZ and put him in prison for the crimes he committed in her state...

I disagree.
The long walk back home was his option, before committing crimes in the US.
He chose poorly. The short walk to the gallows should be his only option, at this point, and it should happen soon.
