twenty years eighty years of development. Battery electric cars will be a viable alternative just after fusion power becomes the dominant power source in the USA.

I predict the stories allowed into the media about battery fires and much lower range for the battery charges than stated earlier will cause a big decline in EV sales. Already a percentage have said “I will never buy an EV again” to survey takers.

EV batteries are fine unless the weather is cold or hot or they catch fire.

Reminds me of the early promotions of the early Segways. They would solve the energy problems of the world. They showed photos of a man in a business suit on a perfect, sunny day at about 77 degrees out. No photos of an ice storm following 10 inches of snow and temperature drop to 5 degrees and 30 mph winds.
