I thought the interview was fascinating.
I was interested in Putin’s perspective on this whole situation.
His review of Russian history actually did explain a lot of his rationalization for the war.
As an aside, the translator’s command of English was very impressive.
What politician can you trust?
Putin may not be trustworthy, but I’m sure he’s no worse than Zelensky. I think Zelensky is more evil that many people like to think.
One wonders when we will see Joe on a milk carton or the subject of an amber alert.
Whatever Putin's physical state, I have no doubts about his mental abilities, like him or not.
He's LIGHTYEARS ahead of many of OUR politicians.
I appreciated the fact that whenever he was asked what someone else was thinking or why they did something, he refused to engage in speculation and speak as if he knew for a fact what was going on in someone else's mind.
He didn't have any problem using documented facts and citing them, but at least he did not presume to speak for others.

I just watched the entire interview and found Putin to be interesting, reasonable, and enormously well informed. Do I trust him? Far more than I trust that lying actor Zelensky.
I can’t imagine ANY of our presidents or their spokespeople being able to recite such history of our nation. But DJT is obviously equal to Putin in the love of his own country.
Our usual “leaders” , including those who are really pulling the strings are after money and don’t care about us. They should all be hanged in public.
I don’t know who this Extinguish fellow is, however, if he thinks Putin’s speach was rambling, just how would he describe President Biden’s speach ?

Agree. And think it was a good interview. Though I realize many with a short attention span would bail. People can make up their minds about Putin’s responses and glad the interview was able to glean some angle of Putin’s thinking.
I think Putin was well-prepared for this interview. And, contrary to the propaganda that we’ve been fed about him, he was intelligent and engaged, which (generally speaking) has been President Trump’s assessment of him. Tucker was in Putin’s court, so needless to say there weren’t gonna be any “gotcha” questions asked or answered. I got “some” sense of who Putin was (pragmatic, no nonsense, focused). He wasn’t your average two-bit whore of a dictator like Zelensky. But he is a dictator, who President Trump will have to reckon with.
Putin’s still a KGB guy. He wants to bring back the glory of the Soviet Union but in the form of Imperial Russia.

Lol Vannity is a complete doofus. I can imagine Putin having to listen to that fool. Putin wouldn’t put up with his narcissistic interruptions. Vannity would be hauled off to the gulag and held prisoner. I, for one, would leave him there!

I know the Cyrillic words for I don't know and I don't understand and when President Putin said those phrases the translator was exactly on it.
But a couple of times the translator seemed to get ahead of what President Putin was saying, as if the translation was done for us from a transcript after the fact.
It makes sense that they might have done that. Any of you polyglots care to wade in on that?
Zelensky and putin are in the same boat.
