Elon’s Twitter Trim Sparks Government Comparison: Could a Leaner U.S. System Be the Solution?
Citizen Watch Report ^

In the wake of Elon Musk’s strategic staff reduction at Twitter, one can’t help but ponder the implications of applying a similar approach to the colossal entity that is the U.S. Government. Musk’s move, trimming 75% of Twitter’s workforce, has seemingly resulted in improved functionality, prompting contemplation on the prospect of a leaner, more efficient government.

Contrary to the idealized image of a limited federal government, the United States now boasts the largest government in world history. The statistics are staggering, with approximately 3 million federal government employees and a colossal expenditure of 6.13 trillion dollars in 2023—exceeding the GDP of almost every nation on Earth.

Well, the first thing he did was to fire all the government employees inside his buildings.

NO!
There is a HUGE difference:
* Elon does more with less.
* The GD government should do FAR less with FAR FAR fewer people.

Cut the GD government by 75%. It causes so much mischief because is is an organism unto itself. And, the government has a HUGE multiplier on its people because they are spending our money. One stinking government person can piss away BILLIONS of our money.

--- "I think we can safely trim 90%."

I worked in Belgium during each of the two now-famous periods when the political government could not form itself after fractious elections. Each time for over 500 days. Nothing went too terribly wrong, proving to me then as now that "trimming" government would piss off only those "trimmed." And most of us would not notice any difference. But costs would drop, to be sure. Political patronage is an ugly thing, and has contributed greatly to the massive debt.

Thank you for posting BitWielder1.

"I think we can safely trim 90%."

Military readiness aside, given that one of the main peacetime powers that the states have given to the constitutionally limited power feds to dictate domestic policy is to deliver the mail, most federal domestic policy now based on state powers that the feds have stolen from the states, consider that probably more than 90% can be trimmed.

In fact, consider that as a consequence of the long arm of the 16th Amendment (direct taxes), much of the taxes that taxpayers pay are unconstitutional imo.

I’m pretty sure Trump is planning a drastic reduction of the bureaucracy. It has to be done.

Ninety percent of the federal government (and state government as well) are nothing but welfare jobs (non-skilled labor), where nepotism and affirmative action run supreme.

The ranks are filled with sleazy drug addict lobbyist, homosexuals and cannibals, who would resort to crime and murder if not for their cushy government largess.

The absolute worst offenders are in Washington District of Caligula. The very flower of the democrat party, the scum of the earth. /spit

Easy. If it isn’t directly related to one of the very few and very limited constitutional powers assigned to the federal government, defund and deconstruct it. Sell off the property and move on.

“That government is best which governs least.”

If Jefferson didn’t say that, he should have.

The countless unelected officials and drones, the multiple federal agencies that do the same things can all be eliminated and the nation will be better for it. Freedom from regulation would reign!
