US officials do not have the capabilities to defend America against a hypothetical alien invasion, internal Pentagon watchdogs have determined.
A newly declassified document found the Department of Defense (DoD) lacks comprehensive or coordinated effort to track and analyze UFOs - which have been rebranded Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) in recent years.
The Office of Inspector General (OIG) made the eerie conclusion that this blindspot in the DoD's defensive capabilities 'poses a threat to military forces and national security.'

Last night it was an old Toho production from 1959, BATTLE IN OUTER SPACE. An actual good movie! Saw it advertised in 1960 but never got to see it. It takes place in....1965 with the world having space stations and can go to the moon!
Still a not bad movie!

I hate to break it to them, but the PENTAGON does not even have the resources to defend America against a conventional invasion across the Pacific by China. Well duh. Any civilization capable of traveling light years to Earth has technology so far advanced beyond ours as to make us literally helpless to their invasion. But given they haven’t destroyed us yet, perhaps they don’t want to.

You can’t defend against someone dropping rocks on you from space. If you don’t control the orbitals, you don’t control your planet. This is very simple, straightforward physics that has been talked about by science fiction authors for decades. It is this, more than anything else that makes the government lie about UFOs.
What the heck makes you think they are interested in a ground war? If they drop a dinosoaur-killing asteroid on us, how much resistance would you expect in a year? 90% of the population would be dead. We would have crap for manufacturing abilities.
Any surviving humans would be target practice, and nothing more. Yeah, some few folks would get a shot back, but not enough to matter.
If an alien entity wants to destroy us it would actually take a relatively small amount of delta-v applied to any number of objects in the solar system if they aren't pressed for time.
... And exactly what are they going to be able to do about a rock the size of an insignificant state like Massachussets? How exactly are you going to alter the delta-v of an object like that? This aint a movie. This is mass, energy and velocity.
