After nearly three weeks of hand-wringing from all sides, Donald Trump is back on the Colorado primary ballot. The news was announced by Jena Griswold, Colorado's Secretary of State, on Friday evening, claiming that the Supreme Court's acceptance of the case was the catalyst for the reversal.

Colorado’s 2024 Presidential primary ballot is certified. The United States Supreme Court has accepted the case, and Donald Trump will appear on the ballot as a result.— Jena Griswold (@JenaGriswold) January 5, 2024
This represents a major reversal for Griswold herself as well. At the end of December, she put out a statement ranting that Trump had committed "insurrection," urging the Supreme Court to act quickly to confirm the state court's decision. Her latest comment is far more mundane, seemingly giving up the ground she originally staked out.
Regarding the specifics here, this isn't surprising to anyone who was able to take a deep breath when Trump was originally removed. As I wrote following Maine's decision to pull Trump from its ballot, these are cheap stunts not meant to succeed technically, but rather to put the Supreme Court in a position to rule for Trump.
What does that tell you? It tells you that none of these cheap stunts are meant to succeed technically. It's essentially a foregone conclusion that the U.S. Supreme Court will not only keep the stays in place, but they will ultimately rule against the states trying to use the 14th Amendment without any due process to bar Trump from the ballot.
In the end, Bellows doesn't believe she'll win. She just wants her name in lights while setting up the U.S. Supreme Court to play the bad guy for half the country. It's a tactic the Biden administration has used over and over, enacting illegal measures with an eye on passing the buck to the judiciary so they can cry foul when they lose.
What does that accomplish? It hands Democrats fresh fodder to try to once again delegitimate the nation's high court. Once a final decision is made and these Democrat states are fully slapped down, members of the left are going to lose their minds on the Supreme Court in an attempt to drive turnout in response. Get ready for a lot of "treason" and "tyranny" talk about the conservative justices.
That was always the goal here. All the shouting from the right was pointless because Trump was never going to be kept off the ballot, and all the celebrating from outlets like CNN and MSNBC was pointless because Trump was never going to be kept off the ballot. Welcome to the kabuki theater that is modern politics.
Just like in 2016, Trump is probably thinking: you can’t pay for this kind of publicity and advertising.
Everyone is talking about him again.
That bitch in Maine just wants to elevate her profile so she can take another shot at Collins’ senate seat.
Screwy ditzy broads are really forkin’ up the election for 2024. Time to start putting some of them in jail.
From what I can see, it’s doing her more harm than good up here. People think she’s a loser.
This enables the USSC to rule the case to be moot. Since the name will be on the ballot, no need for a ruling.
People think she’s a loser.
Prople KNOW she’s a loser. And a whack job Karen.
So I won’t have to write T R U M P on a ballot.
They do not want the USSC to hear it or they cannot try to last minute remove him from the real ballot and then claim there is no time to put him back on...
Sounds like trying to save face. They did not think this through.
Ding Ding!
Griswold and Bellows need to be driven from office. They must be punished as an example to other Democrat media hogs.
From what I read, other blue states, including here in Illinois are trying to pull the same stunt.
The Colorado decision itself said their ruling would be stayed if an appeal was filed in the Supreme Court until the Supreme Court had ruled on the matter.
“including here in Illinois are trying to pull the same stunt.”
It’s 5 people here in Illinois.

Same in Massachusetts
More importantly is that dem States will send dem electors even if Trump wins the State, SCOTUS will punt and say that States can send whatever electors they want.
It’s nothing more than a cease and desist order. You stop someone from doing what’s wrong. No penalty-no fine. That gives our enemies the freedom to do a lot of bad things until they’re stopped. No price to pay so just find something else to trip us up with. Wears us down. Can’t blame them. Do we have the same fight in us? What you you think? It on our leadership. I can vote and give a few dollars to the cause but are our people worth following into battle?
I gave John Thune $50 back in 2004 to take on Tom Daschle. Money well spent. What have the South Dakota republicans done since?
I wouldn’t think the SCOTUS would like to be part of such game-playing. But, I guess you never know until they make the ruling.
Which I’m sure is a relief. Judicial branch does not like to be put in that position.
