The concern about potential dilution of punishments for plagiarism is troubling. It underscores broader worries about ideological shifts impacting academic integrity. Striking a balance between fairness and maintaining the standards of meritocracy is crucial to preserve academia's credibility. The use of strategic weapons to counteract such trends highlights the escalating ideological battles within educational institutions. The outcome will undoubtedly shape the future landscape of academia and its foundational principles.

A seven-foot high jump is still a seven-foot high jump. A ten-second 100m is still a ten-second 100m. Standards for just about everything else have either been ‘relaxed’ or done away with altogether.
the left’s only standard is a double one. This a prime rule of the multiverse.
IMHO, “academia HAS NO CREDIBILITY. Now we’re hearing that the student loan deadbeats got grades sheets on which EVERYBODY got A averages. The participation diplomas are worthless. The former president of Harvard, of all places, is a plagiarist. Where’s the credibility? Lowering standards for those on the bottom rungs has its consequences.
I cant wait until eventually people start digging into all the “global warming” “science”. It will all be exposed as lies and fabrications eventually.
Academia has always been a laughing stock and a commie shithole.
If academics were so smart and educated they wouldn’t be commies. They’re the first to go in a commie purge. Morons.
“Academia has always been a laughing stock and a commie shithole.”
That is the good colleges and universities.
Some are even worse than that!
Plagiarism consequences are only reduced when leftist filth do it
Yep. The new rulers liquidate the traitors first.
Academia has credibility? Who knew!
....this little ditty goes back (waaayyyy back) to my college days when plagiarism was a cardinal sin...today, welllll maybe not so much......
“Plagiarize!
Plagiarize!
Let no man’s work

The Real Purge in Academia
JEFFREY A. TUCKER JANUARY 4, 2024
We have certainly lived through the decline and fall of the older idea of the university.
Now, we may yet live to see the end of the university itself and its replacement by something else entirely.
Reforms can work but the reform will not likely come from within the institutions. They must be imposed by alumni and perhaps legislatures.
Or perhaps the rule of “Go woke, go broke” will eventually force a change.
Regardless, the idea of learning itself will surely return. We are in the transition, and David Barnhizer is our Virgil to give us an outstanding tour of the wreckage left behind and perhaps even a path out of the darkness.

“So don’t shade your eyes,
Plagiarize! Yes,
Plagiarize, plagiarize, plagiarize!”
But be sure to always call it, “Research.”
Check the work of anyone who graduated with a grievance studies degree. They all cheated.
