John, in his gospel, wrote Jesus’s words, when Jesus told of the three positions of God’s Spirit.
Para- the Holy Spirit is BESIDE/ALONGSIDE the unrepentant, calling them to the Father.
En- the Holy Spirit resides INSIDE the repentant.
Epi- the Holy Spirit comes UPON the repentant to do God’s holy works.
The unrepentant do not have God within them. They do have all the evidence of God’s existence within them, because God has made it plain to them, but God does not reside within them.
I didn’t use the words “believer”, or “unbeliever”.
The demons “believe” and they tremble!

Jesus called His disciples with; “follow me”
He also defined “disciple”

There is a shift from the dependency of a child to a sense of self and self actualization as the human soul grows.
Then in midlife crisis the sense of self diminishes and begins to merge and synchronize with the emotional child consciousness. This creates wholeness and is a precursor to “Transcendence “, the next stage in life. Transcendence is necessary to experience God.
In Transcendence you first experience God, and then you surrender to God. That is when you will say “My Father and I are One.”
Somebody very brilliant once said:

I would not be foolish enough to say I know their motivations. Even if they told us, we would have no way of verifying it. There may even be some that are benevolent.
Years ago it was discovered that I had what appeared to be part of a sewing needle imbedded in my right foot. There were a couple of odd things about it. It was only half a needle, and it was the back half. It was flush up against the bone in the arch of my foot, but horizontal. The doctor could not figure out how it got there. It was also fully encapsulated, meaning it had been there for quite some time. The doctor said it would be some fairly major surgery to remove it and since it was not causing me discomfort, I might as well leave it.
I have absolutely no memory of ever stepping on a sewing needle and considering its position, it would have gone in eye first and been quite painful.
Is it a sewing needle?
I do know that as a small child I was terrified of sleeping near windows, especially open windows, a fear I have to this day. My parents said I had night terrors where I would just start screaming in the middle of the night. Even at 61, being alone, outside, in the dark, makes me very uncomfortable. Was I abducted? I have no idea. The needle is still in my foot...I could have it removed and analyzed.

The Bible clearly teaches, indeed, it was Jesus who said it, that angelic beings (and demons are fallen angels) neither marry nor are given in marriage, meaning they do not procreate. I don’t know what type of human the “sons of God” were, but I do know they were NOT angels, fallen or upright, based on Scripture. There is a cult that they were angels; that cannot be unless Jesus is lying, which of course, he isn’t.

A short perusal into Bible expositors reveals that that Scripture refers to marriage and the purpose of marriage, which was procreation. It is unfortunate that some Christians have gone astray and misinterpreted that Scripture to mean angels. Most Bible expositors believe it to mean Sethites, descendants of Seth.
He said that “in the resurrection men and women are as the angels in heaven, they neither marry nor are given in marriage.” It doesn’t speak about angelic procreation per se nor what powers angel may or may not have to do so when they ...(as Jude says) had left their proper “estate” and thus were bound in chains in darkness.
Certain angels may have had powers to do many things and may have done many bad things with humans when they rebelled against God.
The sons of Seth were just as human as the Sons of Cain and the daughters of men who may have married into that line from Cain would not have created ugly monsters. It was the fallen “Sons of God”, or dark angels “who kept not to their own estate” as per Jude that did this with humans.

Most? Well maybe in the last few hundred years or so, especially those of a more Calvinist persuasion may have taught such, but Ancient Hebrew and early Judaism teachings supported the “demonic view” and so did the Early Church. Some say the Demons may have possessed wicked men who then mated with women that way which is plausible assuming one wants to accept that a mating by “proxy as it were” would likely cause the effects on the human genome we’ve read about in Genesis.(as opposed to the “up close and personal” approach. Various Greek myths speak of human women mating with Gods which indirectly may be echos of genesis 6)
