I use a debit card for everything, every day. So I guess I’m already “digitalized” in a way. Cash is practical for tipping, I use cash mostly for that these days.
Having some cash reserve at home in case of a power outage after a storm or a cyber attack on the banking system is crucial though.

Having said that... money, wether in its cash of digital form, is in the end just a currency. If the currency collapses. Cash, digital, debit / credit cards will all be obsolete.

Gold?
In case of a civilization collapse even gold would have zero value.
In such a scenario only farmers knowing how to produce food will have value. I’m talking about well guarded farms...

Is anyone in Washington standing up against this?

“This is only a Test…”

**Beeeeeeeeeeep**…

“We interrupt this regularly scheduled broadcast in accordance with the EBS, QuadS and NSAS. Attention:

IMF, UN, NATO have now switched over to World Funds System. As of this time, all currencies are WFS and all world citizens will be issued a chip card via AutoMat within your mandated HOCS (Home Office Computer Systems).

This card must be worn at all times to ensure WFS of each citizen via ID runs optimally.

Each citizen will be funded a set amount each month. Any attempt to exceed this allotment can and will be dealt with severely. Circumventions by any means constitutes automatic imprisonment / interrogation. All WFS -identified Radical Extremist Groups (REGs), such as those identifying as Christian, Jewish, Patriot, Conservative, or Survivalist have been observed with this activity. Exactly, itS like “curing drunk driving by taking the license to drive away from all law abiding citizens”

[[Pass a law that the current Legal Tender is not legal?]]

They passed a law making the ownership of gold illegal at one time.

Thank you for referencing that article Sam77. Please note that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

"10 US Banks Begin Testing ‘Digital Currency’ to Completely Replace Cash "

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

Hopeful Trump 47 needs to first finish draining the swamp and work with new state and federal lawmakers to surrender state powers that the feds have been stealing from the states back to the states.

After that is done then Trump can lead the states to partially repeal the Constitution's Article I, Section 10, Clause 1 by amending the Constitution to make digital currency constitutional.

"Article I, Section 10, Clause 1: No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation; grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal; coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts [emphases added]; pass any Bill of Attainder, ex post facto Law, or Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts, or grant any Title of Nobility."

The paper money and debit / credit cards that we use are unconstitutional imo, but that's what constitutionally low-information voters get when they elect crooks to state and federal governments.

They passed a law making the ownership of gold illegal at one time.

Don't think it won't happen again. Other things to be deemed illegal to possess:
Ammunition
any transceiver
any shortwave radio receiver
Gemstones
silver
private property
foodstuffs (hoarding more than 1 meal per person per occupation unit)

I think this is for interagency transfers. While it is a precursor to CBDC, THAT is still pretty far away.

Honestly, when they go that route, I predict people will simply use true peer to peer currency skipping the Fed altogether.

I still like cash. But thats just me. I am old and stupid. Ha Ha.

Now…This is more a background thing…but if they move their transactions to a blockchain, settling their monthly statements would take moments, not days. If you knew the wallet IDs they could be audited “live”…by anyone.

What we SHOULD be doing is forcing the government to get their transactions on the blockchain. Imagine seeing where the money is actually going. Live. Audits would be easy. Can you imagine the Pentagon and our foreign aid being traceable on the blockchain?

I am NOT favor of a forced digital currency for individuals. But I am for government. The immutable transparency would change the accountability of government spending forever. THAT would be a good thing.

I don’t believe that banks use cash for settlement transactions. They send/receive electronic dollars using FedWire.

Banks aren’t sending pallets of $100s around.

Preper ping - 10 US Banks are working with part of the Federal Reserve to test the digital currency program that will replace cash
The Banks are identified and listed in an early post
The posted comments are enlightening, as well as entertaining, and should be read before we go down that 'rabbit hole'

" Ten banks in the United States are working with the New York Innovation Center (NYIC), part of the Federal Reserve,
to test the regulated liability network (RLN), a digital currency platform that will replace cash."

" RLN would use distributed ledger technology to improve financial settlements
and would include commercials and central banks, the firm said earlier this month."

The RLN press release states:
“The 12-week PoC [proof of concept] will test a version of the RLN design that operates exclusively in US dollars
where commercial banks issue simulated digital money or ‘tokens’
— representing the deposits of their own customers
— and settle through simulated central bank reserves on a shared multi-entity distributed ledger.”

“The PoC will also test the feasibility of a programmable digital money design that is potentially extensible to other digital assets,
as well as the viability of the proposed system within existing laws and regulations.”

(My opinion) : That last statement of " other digital assets,
as well as the viability of the proposed system within existing laws and regulations.”

This proposed platform is being promulgated without consent of the populace, and by a power hungry government that already spies on its citizens, violates its laws,
and where, by a stroke of a computer key, could erase wealth, or even reassign it to someone else.
Essentially, a government that could cancel you and your financial prosperity for having the wrong 'thoughts'.
How long before they cancel you, personally ? Euthanasia used to be considered far fetched, and now it is being done in neighboring Canada
After all, we are now living in a "cancel culture".
Life in America is now becoming more like a mash up of the two movies : "1984" and "The Blade Runner"
