A prominent "lifelong Democrat" scholar and economist who chaired a COVID-19 commission blasted Dr. Anthony Fauci and others for promoting "massive government lying" regarding the coronavirus, and accused Senate Democrats of refusing to investigate the virus' origins.
Dr. Jeffrey Sachs, a Columbia University professor who chaired a COVID-19 commission set up by "The Lancet" medical journal, said he has since left the Democratic Party after seeing how government officials have behaved around the origins of the virus.
"The sad part of this, not with respect to the vaccine per se, but with respect to the origin of the virus, is that it’s yet another case of massive government lying," Sachs said during an appearance on The Hill’s "Rising" show.
"We have since discovered from the start that what the government told us about ‘natural origins’ of this virus were hokey, and really amounting to scientific fraud."
Sachs said that even the scientists who wrote "The proximal origin of SARS-CoV-2" in the spring of 2020 "didn’t even believe that as they were writing it because they knew that there were so many hints that this could well have come out of a U.S. lab, or out of Chinese lab, or out of a U.S.-China partnership in the research."
Sachs admitted he, too, bought into the mainstream media’s COVID-19 reporting at the beginning of the pandemic, especially after a major scientific journal, “Nature,” said there was overwhelming evidence the origin was natural.
He then credited reporting by The Intercept, U.S. Right to Know, and whistleblowers for helping to change his thinking.

I occaisionally popped in to see what they were discussing on Newsmax. Lately, I have been unable to open the Roku app. Now, I learned it’s because they went to a subscription model.

I used to watch Newsmax when it was free. How many others have dropped Newsmax since it went to a subscriber paid model? Who is touting the 150K subscriber figure? Newsmax?
That is one whacked headline. I don’t watch Newsmax anymore because I am not going to pay for it. I was will to put up with 50 percent commercials when it was free because I realize they need income. Newsmax two is not news at all.
I like Newsmax and understand the concept of a hybrid business model. I think they will do fine going forward and am happy to be a subscriber.
All I cut and pasted was about Dr. Sachs doing a “walkaway” from the Dems because of the lies. That was literally the entire headline. They have some automatic program that adds all the rest of that crap. Must be.
Newsmax was barely tolerable when they were easy access.from anywhere. Now they want viewers to jump through hoops.
Not worth a single penny or a second of my time for Northeast neocon urbans and Fox rejects.
These pay-for-view media outlets need to pay their viewers for watching all the damn commercials. No thanks, Newsmax. Goodbye.

He’s concerned about the government lying about a virus that was never spreading (that it was is a lie we should be very worried about), but not about the jabs.
Ditto. I cut the cable don’t want to pay Newsmax Plus. Real Americas Voice is just as good if not better. No loss on my part. Wonder how many people stopped watching.
You need to proof read what comes out and fix it before you post.
