The residents of Lahaina could have used a warning about what was coming their way, but no, they got silence.

Then when they sought to flee they were herded back into the fire zone by whom?

The local po-po. Just takin’ and enforcin’ orders.

The Lahaina and Washington D.C. police departments are a disgrace.

I wouldn’t put too much thought in to malice in what happened in Lahaina. I had lived on the islands many years. Without exception the politicians, bureaucrats, and cops are all too stupid to pull off anything this sinister. Lahaina was a tinderbox of old wooden building with a massive undergrowth of dried grass and shrubs surrounding the entire city. Any city planner and competent fire chief would have seen this decades ago and planned accordingly.
