Even in war mistakes are made. It is dumbfounding that Israel didn’t see it coming and didn’t have adequate defense capabilities in the northwestern area near the Gaza fence.
The war will play out. It will probably end sooner than later since that’s how Israeli counter-offensives always end with international community saying they need to stop killing the people Hamas use as human shields.
When it ends, and the public sentiment has time to reflect on these failures, I suspect Bibi’s coalition will break up and he will be out. But not now, since Israelis will close ranks among parties during times of emergency like this.
I don’t think Israel will listen to the “community” this time, considering the sheer scale of horror. I pray that they will turn Gaza into glass once and for all, like they should have done years ago.
