DeBUSH: Florida Governor Hosting Fundraiser with Bush Ally
National File ^ | September 18, 2023 | CHARLES DOWNS

Posted on 09/19/2023 3:12:26 PM PDT by SoConPubbie

DeSantis has previously expressed his deep admiration for George HW Bush, and is praised by Jeb!

Journalist Laura Loomer exposed that Ron DeSantis is set to embark on a fundraising tour hosted by major Bush donors in Texas. Texas billionaire Dick Weekley, who is listed as a host for the September 20th fundraiser in Houston, is a major donor to Texas Speaker Dade Phelan. Phelan recently did the Bush family’s dirty work by impeaching and attempting to remove Texas AG Ken Paxton. AG Paxton was the only state AG that made a serious effort to overturn the 2020 election at the United States Supreme Court. In 2022, Paxton beat silver-spoon George P. Bush in the Texas GOP AG primary.

Loomer shared a photo of the flyer for the September 20th DeSantis fundraiser in Houston. On the flyer, Dick Weekley is listed as a member of the host committee. Loomer captioned her photo, writing, “One of the most notable names on both invites for both @RonDeSantis’s fundraiser and Dade Phelan’s fundraiser is Texas billionaire Dick Weekley, who was one of the biggest supporters of the recent push to impeach
@KenPaxtonTX.”

Records show Dick Weekley donated $25,000 to Dade Phelan. Weekley’s organization, Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC, also donated $25,000 to Mr. Phelan.

Loomer asked the crucial question, “It’s looking like efforts to impeach Ken Paxton were coordinated by @RonDeSantis donors in a Presidential year. If you were going to try to rig an election in Texas against Trump, you would probably want to take down the pro-Trump Texas AG, wouldn’t you?”

SCOOP: @RonDeSantis will be campaigning in Texas this week with RINO TX Speaker of the House @DadePhelan where Phelan is expected to help DeSantis fundraise.

With 162 delegates at stake, Texas has the second largest number of delegates at stake in the 2024 GOP primary. DeSantis and his allies already tried to rig California, the state with the most delegates at play, to their favor. Loomer exposed McCarthy and DeSantis allies’ plans to award a massive amount of delegates to the second-place finisher in the California GOP primary. Thanks to Loomer’s reporting, Trump supporters in California forced the CA GOP to change their rules.

Trump supporters in Texas should keep their eyes open; it looks like the elite could be attempting to steal the state away from President Trump.

DeSantis has done and is doing good works in Florida so I would like to think he is just using the left wing of the pub party but I have yet to see someone jump into the GOPe sewer and not get the stink all over himself. Ted Cruz has been a good senator and he is still trying to recover credibility lost from when he threw his lot in with the donor class.

He might as well go take a pic with Zelensky and really end this mess with a thud.

“a major donor to Texas Speaker Dade Phelan”

Ron just keeps racing to the bottom. Is he trying to lose the entire base?

Name the RDS policies that endear him to the Bush family please. Look, this meme is phony and preposterous. We all know it.

DeSantis is the real deal. He’ll make a good POTUS some day unless Rand beats him too it. He fights harder than the Bushes. Bush 41 took it to Dukakis in ‘88 and then raised taxes. DeSantis took a purple state and turned it solid red-the real deal.

Bushs always campaigned on family values and things like that. Then they never delivered and blamed those facts on other things later. Later we see GWB and his family seem to have no trouble with RAT policies. It was all campaign talk.

How many years did they claim they would move the US embassy to Jerusalem? Campaigned on it though.

On Free Republic, we are supposed to be outraged that DeSantis would raise money or have any affiliation of any kind with so called RINO types. He’s supposedly congrolled by Karl Rove and Paul Ryan.

To some Freepers, such association cancels out any actions he has ever taken in office.

The problem is not what was done in office.

The problem is ever holding office.

@DavidGiglio

“Ken Griffin, who was instrumental in convincing DeSantis to put his political future in jeopardy by running against Trump, has bailed on Ron before the first primary.

These people never cared about Ron. They are parasites. Jumping from person to person hoping they can find someone to take out Trump.

Ken did what he did simply because he was mad that Trump was putting a dent in his bottom line by finally demanding China stop taking the US for a ride and engage in fair trade practices.

This must be a crushing blow for Ron to see the people who convinced him to destroy his career bail on him.

Sad.

Many people were not yet aware of who he would align with.

The people he has aligned with are not people that are trusted anymore. The GOPe is using every trick in the book to plunge us back to their vote the best of the worst horrible ways. Look at the shenanigans in Texas by the Bush cartel regarding Paxton. It was so disgusting. I watched that sham that cost taxpayers millions. It was embarrassing.

My point is not that DeSantis is so great. I have no explanation as to why he’s only at 9%.

I’m only pointing out that over and over, we are told on this site ,that he is not a true conservative ,because of who he is getting money and support from.

How many times did both Bush presidents say they would close the border and did diddly-sqat?

Infinite times. Nothing but betrayal.
