Hawaii is majority Asian (i.e. Japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc)-— disproves the myth that Asians are “smart.”
Hawaii was a Republican territory/state until the Japanese migrants living their got their citizenship after WWII (before, they were green card aliens). Since they vote D as a block (like blacks or Jews elsewhere in the US), and account for about 25% of the pop, they and their Democrat party have controlled the state since the 1960s.
